Author's Note: I wrote this poem after listening to the endless stories of Alaska from a friend who is obsessed with that place. I have never been there, but I sure as hell would like to go. Although, this not my best writing, I'm still posting it here.
SOMEWHERE IN ALASKA
This land is painted with shades of green,
So calm, peace and serene
Miles and miles and I can see no one out here
Just you, me and nothing else to fear.
The sky is darker than black,
And the big bright moon shines amidst,
I dont know what this means,
This journey far out east.
Trucks, boots and cowboy hats-
Is all we'll ever find here
I look around and see nothing at all,
Just a big hard sun and people not so tall.
This journey has finally ended our quest,
Its time to rejoice and celebrate in the feast,
I realize, this is what we waited for so long,
I realize, this land is where we belong.
