I sat at the front desk doodling roses and odd creatures onto a once blank piece of construction paper when I heard the "Ding" of the elevator sound off though I didn't bother to look up it had been about a week since my run in with Lauren and the guy and I was still reeling over what I had witnessed I haven't spoken to Lauren since that morning and I tried all of my hardest to avoid her completely and that wouldn't have to try that hard because the hotel was so big and I knew places that I could hide out
"well look who it is" a familiar voice sounded I glanced up to see Dinah standing at the front desk
"Oh hey Dinah" I replied as I continued doodling
"Don't oh hey Dinah me , what's up with you making my girl Lauren cry I heard what happened and that was low as hell girl" she said harshly
"Well then if you think that was harsh maybe you didn't see what I saw" I shot back
"Girl please if you would have allowed her to explain you would have known that that guy you saw her with was Ty he did a collab on one of our songs he's like a big brother to us and he's married girl" Dinah protested
I sat up in my chair ready to refute the argument "Well explain to me why she was sitting in his lap and kissed him on the cheek" I said as I folded my arms
"Girl you are overreacting we are all just friends and I can promise you that neither Lauren nor Ty are like that they both have a mutual respect and love for one another but it's strictly on a friendship level" she argued back
"Well, how the hell was I supposed to know that that was the reason?" I replied back
"Well maybe because you never asked her or even gave her the chance to even explain herself you ass! she really likes you and you hurt her girl go talk to her and fix your shit" She shouted as she stepped onto the elevator I sat quietly in the chair with my arms folded I was still reluctant to talk to Lauren but I decided that I should just talk to her and get it over with
(Time Forward)
I was lounging in my hotel suite when a soft knock on the door startled me from my vices I paused my game and headed for the front door
"Who is it!" I yelled but I heard no answer I swung the door open to see a pair of Emerald eyes staring back at me
"H-Hey Lauren" I stuttered out
"Hi can I come in?" she asked her voice raspy yet soft spoken
I thought about her question before responding "yeah sure come on in" I said as I stepped back to allowed her to enter further into the room I closed the door behind us and walked to the sofa and sat down Lauren followed me and stood in front of me
"I just came to tell you that i'm sorry" she said in almost a whisper
I sat quietly for a minute thinking of my words
"No, actually i'm sorry for taking things out of hand, Dinah told me what was up with what I saw I just I got so upset I couldn't think straight i lashed out at you and that was wrong of me to do." I explained as I fidgeted with my gaming remote
"It's okay I mean if I was you and saw what you saw I would have probably thought the same thing" Lauren explained with a slight nervous giggle
"Lauren will you go out on a date with me?" I blurted out and before I could realize what I had just asked Lauren's eyes grew wide though I couldn't tell if it was from shock or excitement
"Never mind I shou-'
"No,No yes of course i'll go on a date with you" she replied quickly cutting my words off and reassuring me that my question was okay
"Are you sure I mean I was an asshole to you I mean I wouldn't even go out with me right now It's lik-" my words were cut short by a pair of soft lips gently pressed against mine and a sweet kiss ensued I was left speechless by Lauren's sudden gesture a sweet gesture once air became a critical issue she slowly pulled away nearly leaving me gasping for air
"How's that for me being sure?" she said softly before a sweet smile crossed her face
"yeah, that's a pretty damn good sign" I said as a clown smile crept across my face.
