REGARDING YOUR ONGOING EXISTENCE
//Firstly, strip all the sheets from the bed.
Wash them, bleach them stark and bright,
stare at your bare mattress all night,
sleep on the floor instead.Secondly, roll up the blinds each dawn,
let in the light, let in the cold and bitter air,
focus on the world and stare.
You realise you've never seen it before.Thirdly, don't look at your phone when it blinks.
Don't pick up, don't text, don't call.
If you have to, throw it at a damn wall.
The screen cracks and flickers and winks. Finally, forget about yesterday, and the day before.
Forget what's missing and what's done
and blind yourself by staring at the sun.
Without sight, your sins are visible no more.
Maybe without sight, they'll be easier to ignore.
