Gold's POV

I sit there in the chair next to Katelyn's bed, nothing but the sound of the monitor echoing throughout the room. Lifting my head up, I see Joslyn enter the room. "Jeffory left." Is all she says, a grim look on her face. "It's not your fault Joslyn, he'll come back. He has to come back." I reply, trying to lighten the mood a little bit.

She sits down in the chair next to me, and we just stare at Katelyn. The wires, the tubes, it may make her better, but it can never heal the words that were thrown at her, unintended. "Why are our lives so messed up?" Joslyn asks, not looking at me. I sit there for a moment, thinking over what to tell her.

"They're not messed up, they're just... Different from everybody else's. This is all happening for a reason, so when this is all over.. I promise it will all be worth it." I tell her, and she leans her head on my shoulder.

"You always have the perfect thing to say."

Aaron's POV

My hands are shaking. My eyes are bloodshot. And my mind is racing. My own Mother stares at me, not knowing who I am. I've become a monster. "Excuse me sir, but do you know where we are?" My own mother asks me, and

I somehow feel no regret. But lots of pain. Both emotional and physical pain. I don't say anything, I just hug her. "I'm sorry- your son wasn't what you wanted him to be." I whisper, and let go.

I back up slowly into the forest, hoping to never look into my own Mother's eyes again. I'm a stranger to her now. I run into the forest, disappearing hopefully never to see anyone ever again. I don't need to make any more deals with those pathetic humans.

Aphmau's gone... I hope she'll someday love me for who I've become.

Jeffory's POV

"What are you doing here Jeffory?" My Mother asks kindly, looking directly into my green eyes. There's an awkward moment of silence, and I finally summon the courage to tell her what happened- what I did to Katelyn.

"Mom... I hurt Katelyn really badly. I hurt her emotionally and physically." I whisper, and she gives me a hug. "What did you do?" She asks, and I blink slowly; memories with Katelyn playing in my mind. Like a slideshow. "I-I laughed at her when she told me her Mom died, and she thought it over for a couple of days.

And then we had our first fight. She told me she hated me, and I being the stupid person I am... Told her the same thing. She ran out of the school crying- the first time I've ever seen her cry... And it broke me. A little bit later I found her being attacked by wolves, and all of that happened because I was being selfish..... All of that happened because of me." I tell her, small tears rolling down my pale cheeks.

My Mom just stands there, holding me in her arms in a motherly way. She sighs, and Katelyn is still somehow the only thing running through my mind. I love her. But I broke her. "It's okay Jeffory... I know what you did was wrong, but it's all happening for a reason. Your life isn't going to be a fairy tale, nobody's life is a fairy tale. We all have our tough times, but you'll always have someone to help you through it." She tells me, and wipes the tears off of my face.

"Go lay down. I haven't touched your room since you last left." She says, and I nod while walking down the hall into my old room. I open the door, and I come face to face with my collage of old pictures. Most of them are of me and Katelyn... And that's the thing that breaks me out into a painful amount of tears.

Joslyn's POV

I lift my head up, and once again I end up staring at Katelyn's bed. Gold has a blanket covering him, light snores escaping through his barely open mouth. Sasha walks in, a bunch of other doctors following in behind her.

"I'm so sorry, but you guys need to leave now." One of the doctors says, and I turn towards Gold, and wake him up. "Wh-What?" He asks sleepily, and I pull him out of his chair. "Is she okay?" I ask Sasha nervously, and all she does is give me an unsure answer.

One of the doctors takes us out into the hall, and he slowly shakes his head. "Katelyn is in a very critical condition, and I honestly think she might be in a coma." He tells us bluntly, and I feel tears stinging in my eyes. "Do you think she'll be okay?" I ask, and he sighs.

"There's a ten percent chance of survival." He says, and I feel a tear roll down my cheek. "I'm so sorry." He says, and he quickly walks back into the room. "Joslyn?" I hear Gold ask me, but somehow I feel lots of anger towards Jeffory. I ignore him, and hop onto the elevator, Gold right by my side.

"Being mad at Jeffory won't help." He whispers, but being who I am, I ignore him. I just run outside, and lean onto a tree. Sitting down, I put my face in my hands. I hear Gold sit by me, and he just holds me in a hug.

Ten percent chance of survival.

Sasha's POV

I watch as five doctors push Katelyn down the hall into the ICU. (Intensive Care Unit) I feel my hands start to shake, and I have to put them in my pockets to stop them from shaking. Well, if there's one thing I'll say, is that no matter how critical Katelyn's conditions may be, I won't stop fighting to keep her alive.
