Nightmares in the Reality

"Guys, I have a plan. Here's what we do. Parrot, go as lookout. The monster could show up any minute. Track him down first before he tracks us. Cat, try to gather many vines as possible. Panda, go with me. We'll gather some wood and tweak them. Puff, since you know more about this adventure, try to help Dog figure out how to use that wand." Snowbear instructed

After a while,

"It's here!" Parrot exclaimed

"Okay everyone, places!"

The monster landed on it's 4 limbs. It's smelled something. Something like a chicken. It turned around and saw

"HEY! COME AT ME BRO!" Parrot taunted

The monster charged at Parrot with teeth locked at her head.

Parrot charged head-on with her sword unsheathed, ready to slash at it's face.

The monster was surprised. It's feet was trapped by a series of woods. Parrot was able to land a hit at it's left cheek.

*SLICE*

The monster roared in pain.

Panda jumped from above and landed a heavy blow on it's head.

*TONGK*

The monster felt dizzy.

Cat, sitting on a branch high up the tree, released a flurry of arrows at the monster.

*SCHUNK! SCHUNK! SCHUNK!*

The monster tried struggling and it managed to free itself.

The 2 backed away.

The monster shook it's tail and threw spikes at the two. It missed Parrot, and Panda blocked the attack. It tried to shoot down Cat, and it managed to scrape her arm, but she can still use it.

While facing the attackers, the monster didn't notice that there was a bush behind him.

Snowbear jump slashed at it's tail

*SCHWING*

and it split into two.

*THUD*

The monster was hurt and angry. Very angry. It was ready for pouncing, and it tried to pounce Parrot, Snowbear, and Panda.

Snowbear was hit and flew back.

Dog was there waiting. She tried to help Snowbear up, while Puff subbed in for her.

Dog healed Snowbear and made her hide. She put a blessing to Puff, Parrot, and Panda.

Puff used the scythe very efficiently and almost each blow landed a hit.

The monster tried to pounce around and Parrot was hit, too. She flew away and left the sword for a while. 

Panda was struck with the tail and fell unconscious.

It was only Cat and Puff left, against this powerful beast. Dog was hiding in the bush, trying to heal Puff as much as possible, until she can't do it anymore. She's tired.

Puff tried to attack, but his world became in slow motion as he sees the bladed wings going to hit him. He knew he would fall down.

Is this how I will end?

It's still early.

I will not end my life like this.

*Klangk!*

What are you doing?!

What were you thinking?!

He felt anger, rage, and a sudden burst in power.

He managed to slice at the monsters arm, then chest, and every part of it's body. It fell down. It's dead.

He dropped the scythe.

It rushed to the victim.

"No. No-no-no-no-no. Not like this. Not like this. Please. Don't. Please."

"I'm sorry, Puff."

Puff gripped the wand very hard that he could almost bend it.

Cat jumped down the branch and looked at the two.

Panda regained conciousness only to see someone who was dying.

There was silence.

Silence.

Silence.

Sorry.

I didn't had the time to say goodbye.

I tried to help, and looks like I did pretty good.

All of you lived.

And got to continue your quest.

I'll just say thank you.

Because you made me braver.

Because you made me stronger.

Because you showed me that there's nothing to be feared.

Because you showed me that there's still beauty in this nightmare.

And that is you.

Someone who is behind a mask that made me realize that...

...I can be someone better.

That I am not a weight that slows down the group.

And I can have a value.

"Try to get a dinner afterwards."
