Chapter 2

"so where you from". I was asked by Dre

We were currently at lunch with Zoey, her boyfriend and another boy name Chris.

"Well I was born in Jamaica but I lived in Compton before I came here". I said while eating my salad

"Aye my sister live there, her name Kayla, you know her?". He asked

I thought for a moment and came blank

"No I don't think so". I said

"Anyway your in dance class right". Zoey asked me

"Yeah are you". I asked

"Yeah it's my first time though". She said pouting

"I'm sure you'll do fine". I reassured her

She smiled at me then went to annoy dre. I smiled at the two just admiring how much they love each other, though they act like they don't.

I was reading a book I found in my bag when I heard the chair next to me move and someone sit in it. I looked up and saw Lucas, looking at me.

I decided I would ignore him because I wasn't going to give him any attention.

"Why you grilling the girl Lucas damn". Dre asked

"Tryna figure out who the fuck she think she is". He said

I gave him a bored look

"I could ask you the same thing". I said

"Yo-". He said

"Lucas leave the girl alone ight you were being an ass". Zoey said

"Whateva yo I'm bout to bounce". He said getting up

"See you neva". I mumbled chucking up the deuce

He kissed his teeth while I lightly chuckled

"Now you being petty girl". Zoey said laughing

"I know I can't help it". I said

Just then the bell rang indicating that lunch was over.

"Let's go girl". Zoey said as she kissed Dre

Me and Zoey arrived at dance class and changed into some more comfortable clothes.

"You look cute". Zoe said

"Thanks". I said

"Alright ladies and gentlemen I am Mrs.kelsi, your dance teacher this year. I want to see how good everyone is at doing chorography and making it their own. Spread out and we can get started". She said while standing infront of the big dance mirror

Everyone did as told and started learning the choreography she was showing us. I really loved it and couldn't wait to do it and put my own flavor on it. I also noticed that lucas was in this class too, I was curious to see how he would do.

"Ok everyone will get a chance to do this infront of the class, when I call your name go in the middle and do your thang". She said smiling

I watched as many people went and killed it. Some needed help but everyone can improve including me.

"Naomi Jane it's your turn". Mrs. Kelsi said

"Fuck it up bitch". Zoe yelled

"Language Zoe". Mrs.kelsi warned even though we could see she was laughing too

I began moving my body as Beyonce's live say my name song came on. (Dance is in the media).

"Wow Naomi that was great how long have you been dancing". Mrs Kelsi asked

"Thank you, I guess all my life". I said as I went to get some water from my bag on the bench

Next called was Lucas and I was slightly curious to see it, so I sat on the bench watching him in a non creepy way. He started dancing and I was instantly hypnotized with his every move, he made it more masculine which I found cool. Everyone clapped for him including me, since I wasn't gonna be a hater just because we not on good terms. Most of the girls were going crazy because of him being as good looking as he is. But I was hooked to the movement and vibe aspect of it.

"Damn girl you did that shit". Zoe said as we left dance class

"Thanks I just really love it". I said

"Well what else can you do". She asked

I know I told her about my love for dance but I am always distant to telling people that I sing. So I chose to not tell her.

"Nothing else". I said as we headed down the stairs

"Oh well I've gotten go to math, Mr Perez is an ass hole". She said waving bye to me.
