Chapter 4

What the hell is wrong with me?. Why would I allow that asshole to kiss me after the way he talked to me. These are the thoughts going through my head as I walked to the diner. I am so stupid.

"Hello my grandbaby". My grandma said when I walked to the back where my apron was.

"Hey Grandma how are you". I said as I hugged her and kissed her on the cheek.

"I'm good baby especially now that your here". She said smiling

I smiled at her she was truly beautiful, her hair was still so long. Her eyes were so vibrant, she could make anyone feel better. She always said I have her eyes but I don't think so. My eyes don't hold the same vibrantness as hers.

"Alright grandma I'm gonna go start serving". I said

She nodded and went back to what she was doing.

I put my belongings in my locker and put on my apron. I then put my hair in a high ponytail. The day was going well. People were enjoying their food and talking among their self's. I was sitting at the counter reading a book as I waited for anyone to come in or ring their bell.

The door opened indicating that someone​ has come in. I looked up and saw Zoe and all the guys including Lucas. She saw me and walked over to the counter while the guys sat down.

"Hey you work here girl". She asked

"Yeah". I said as I got the menus to give them

"Naomi who's this pretty girl". My grandma yelled from back not too loud but loud enough for us to hear

"Zoe meet my grandma ms. Joyce". I introduced them

"Thank you, hi ms.joyce". She said smiling

"Ah baby just call me grandma Joyce". She said waving her hand

"Ok grandma Joyce". She said laughing

"I like your grandma she so funny and gorgeous". Zoe said

"Thanks she is beautiful isn't she". I said

"Alright go to your table so I can serve y'all". I said laughing

We walked to their table and gave them their menus.

"Welcome to The Spot here are your menus we have breakfast,dinner and lunch at all hours". I said

"You not Gon say hi to your friends wow I'm hurt yo". He said crossing his arms

"Sorry hey y'all is that better". I said laughing

He nodded

"Much better". He said

"Your so damn extra". Zoe said to him

"But you love it though". He said

"Unfortunately". She mumbled

She thought he didn't hear her. Until he kicked her under the table.

"Ow damn Dre". She said rubbing her ankle

"Next time watch ya mouth". He said smirking

I laughed at the two, they are honestly perfect for each other.

"Wassup Naomi". Lucas said

I decided not to make it awkward so I look him straight in the eye.

"Would you like to make your order Lucas". I said acting as if I didn't hear him

"Nah that's not what I want". He said

He needs to stop playing with me I'm not falling for it. Like what does he mean by that.

I was saved by the bell from another table.

"Alright so when you guys make up your minds ring the bell". I said walking away to the other table.

As I took the order from the other table I could feel eyes on me but I ignored them. I walked to the back to give my grandma the order.

"Who's that boy looking at you". She asked as she took the order

I looked back to see that it was indeed Lucas looking at me. He smiled and waved to my grandma which infuriated me.

"Nobody important grandma". I said

"He's a handsome young man darling are you two you know". She said giving me the eye

"No and that will never happen". I said

"Why what he do to my grandbaby". She said in a warning tone

I laughed at her

"Nothing grandma I just don't like him like that". I said

"Mhm anyways here's the food". She said

I took each plate and glass and put them on my tray. I gave the table their food and received a 20$ tip, I smiled and thanked them. I then heard the bell at Zoe's table. So I walked over their with my pen and notebook to take their orders.

"You guys made up your minds yet". I asked smiling

"Me and Dre will have Chicken and waffles with a Sprite and water". She said

I took down their orders and looked at Lucas and Chris.

"How bout y'all". I asked

"Give me a biscuit and some sausage and bacon with a Sprite". He said

I wrote down his order.

"You Lucas?". I asked

He kept looking at me then answered.

"Just give me Some hot wings". He said

"Ight, no water though they really hot". I said as I wrote his order down

"That's why they called hot wings right". He said back to his Lil attitude

I rolled my eyes and walked away.

"Hey we're leaving I'll see you tomorrow at school right". Zoe asked as the all said bye to me.

"Yeah you will". I said waving bye

When they left I looked around to see that the last table was now leaving. I waved goodbye to them and thanked them for coming. I checked the time and saw that there was one minute till closing time.

I went to the back and took off my apron.

"Grandma are you ready to leave". I asked her

"Yeah let me go get my coat, get my bag for me". She said

I got my stuff out my locker then grabbed her bag off of the chair by it. When she came back I handed her bag to her, then we left. We got in my car and made our way home.
