*Josh's pov*
Tyler is perfect, I want to make his birthday special for him. I want him to be happy. It's the least I could do. After we finished homework, we sat together under a blanket watching movies. He rested his head on my chest and I had my arm around him. I stared down at him. He's so cute when he sleeps. He's always cute.
I looked out of the window and saw that it was snowing outside. The snow wasn't the only thing I saw though. I saw someone staring at us, watching us. I got up and rested Tyler's head softly on a pillow then I grabbed a knife from the kitchen. I didn't bother putting on a coat, instead I went outside and looked for whoever was watching us. I could barely see though but I did see footprints in the snow. I was shivering as I followed them. I'll do anything to keep Tyler safe.
Then I felt someone kick the back of my leg and I fell to the ground, dropping the knife and losing it in the snow. I frantically searched for it until I heard a gun click. I froze.
"Turn around and stand up." A familiar voice said.
I did what they said. Then once I stood up I was able to see their face.
"ELLIE!"I said. "Why are you doing this?"
Someone was coming up behind her holding something.
*Tyler's pov*
I was terrified but I had to protect Josh. I dug the knife into the backside of whoever this was and they fired the gun. The bullet went through Josh's stomach and they both fell to the ground. I picked up the gun and put it into my pocket then I ran over to Josh.
"Tyler?" He said, weakly.
"Josh you're gonna be okay. Can you stand up?"
I started crying as I saw how much blood was streaming onto the white snow.
"No Josh. No please don't leave me. YOU CAN'T LEAVE ME!" I yelled.
He put his hand on my face.
"Tyler. I love you." He said.
I began to sob. He kissed me. I kissed back harder than ever. This was the last time I'd get to kiss him.
"Josh you'll be okay I'll get you to the hospital." I said.
"No leave me here."
"JOSH NO! I'M NOT LEAVING YOU!"
"TYLER! I LOVE YOU! PLEASE GET OUT OF HERE YOU AREN'T SAFE."
"BUT JOSH YOU CAN LIVE!"
"No."
I kissed him again.
"I love you more." I said.
He smiled and then he... died. My world came crashing down around me and I started yelling at the top of my lungs.
"WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS? WHY WOULD YOU TAKE HIM FROM ME?"
Josh was my world. Now he's gone. I wiped my eyes and then walked over to the killer. It was Ellie. I pointed the gun at her.
"WHY?" I screamed.
"I love you Tyler." She said, smiling.
She died too. I fell to my knees and began sobbing and screaming. Josh was the only person I've ever loved. Josh was the only person that ever loved me besides my mother. Why did he have to leave me?
*Josh's funeral, Tyler's perspective, no one else came*
I stared at the name on his gravestone.
Josh.
I'd repeat to myself as if the stone were mentioning a different Josh than the one I loved. The name Josh Dun seemed familiar but distant. Like a relative you haven't seen in years that you never really talk to. I wasn't crying though. I had already reached my saddest point, I have no more tears left to shed.
