we all started packing up our things

"don't forget to do your research," Ms. Porter reminded

i left the room and went to my locker, and started pressing my code. the lock popped open and i unlocked my locker to get my other books, returning the Biology one

i closed my locker and i jumped in surprise seeing the new student leaning on the locker next to mine

"shit!" the words fell out my mouth like it was one of my reflexes

"she speaks," Jaehyun laughed, "you get scared easily, don't you?"

"are you lost?" i asked in a low tone, not sure if he heard it

"i heard you speak, finally," he flashed a happy smile

as if i didn't say hi to him earlier, i thought

i just smiled shyly in return

"do you need something?" i asked, already feeling uncomfortable

"let's go to the cafeteria," he said

"why?" i asked again, out if my mind

"because it's recess?" he answered, turned out to be a question, stating the obvious

"besides, i haven't met anyone properly yet, except for you," he continued

"okay," i finally said

"let's go," he smiled and i followed him
