My vision went in and out of focus as I opened my eyes slowly. A terrible headache was tearing at my concentration severely. Moreover, the fact that the room I was currently in reeked of some unpleasant and robust odour wasn't helping either. The floor beneath me was all too cold and dirty, which only increased my lust for getting up. When letting my blurry sight travel further to the side, I noticed that the walls were made of some stone material as well. It certainly was a strange room and utterly unfamiliar to me. "Where am I?" I muttered to myself, followed by a loud groan. With caution, I rubbed my eyes, trying desperately to make my blurry sight clear up. After a short while, I chose to get up, though very carefully and slowly. Leaning against one of the walls, I felt its icy coldness against my palm. I eyed the room up and down once more, not finding anything but a large door. There was only one place I couldn't look; the corner of the room. It was disturbingly eerie and way too dark for me to see anything, and so I didn't dare to walk any closer.
"Hello?" I called out. I noticed my voice sounded surprisingly vehement, though a bit hoarse. "I'm stuck!" I added, pounding on the door right after. I placed my ear against the door cautiously, waiting hopelessly for a response. As expected, though, I was met with nothing but an aggravating silence. "Hello!" I repeated frustratedly.
Shortly, my mind suffered mayhem of toxic theories which ran wild, covering several of the stereotypical thoughts people have during crises. "This only happens in horror movies, not in real life. I must be dreaming, right? Or is this some cruel prank?" I blurted out in a whispering tone, fright beaming from me. I'd had lucid dreams before; surely if it had been real I would've faced even greater panic, or so I thought. I grabbed the doorknob roughly and twisted it several times, still clutching onto a drop of hope. "Oh, come on!" I groaned in despair before kicking the door thrice. I tried looking through the keyhole several times, but it was all in vain as it was blocked and thereby showed me nothing but pitch darkness. "Damn it!" I bellowed in frustration.
Without success, I'd repeatedly tried prying the lock open; it just wouldn't give in. In pure despair, I backed away from the door slowly, expecting no resistance whatsoever to halt me. However, my prediction was proven wrong once I hit something considerably softer than a wall. Impulsively, I shrieked and turned around so quickly that I almost stumbled and fell over. A loud gasp escaped me when I saw a person standing right in front of me. Not bettering the situation for myself, I eventually fell to the ground as a result of my staggering movements due to the shock that hit me. "I swear you almost gave me a legit heart attack! Heck, you for sure weren't here some minutes ago!" I blurted out stressfully, my eyes expanding. "Corner. And I'm sorry," he answered vaguely, clearing his throat.
"Oh, a prank it must be indeed," I whispered under my breath. The stranger's hair had a dark and somewhat ashy brown tone to it and was styled upwards. His undercut contributed to giving all attention to the long, more voluminous section of his hair, for sure. The clothes he was wearing were mostly black and exceptionally stylish, in my opinion, that is. His shoes, on the other hand, had gotten filthy dirty. As for his appearance face wise, I was stunned. His lips were pink-flushed, full and considerably pleasing to look at. Eyes looking like some artwork, I couldn't help but notice the combination of deeper green hues. Not the typical puppy eyes, no, those were ethereal.
