Lorelei's POV
It's a fine Thursday afternoon, nakatambay lang kami ngayon sa clubroom while waiting for a case to solve. Sa ngayon, nagbabasa lang ako ng magazines na dinala ni Jamie, si Loki naman ay nagbabasa rin pero ng novel na hindi ko makita kung ano ang title, sina Alistair at Jamie ay gumagamit lang ng kanilang mga cellphone.
"Bakit ka tumatawa diyan, Al?" Tanong ni Jamie kay Alistair na tumatawa habang nakatingin sa cellphone.
"May page sa facebook na nagpost ng "what is love," Nakakatawa yung comments nila." Natatawang sabi ni Al.
"Hm... What is Love? Love is Loki!" Sabi ni Jamie at niyakap ang braso ni Loki.
"As far as I know, Love is a feeling of extreme liking to someone or something." Sabi ni Loki.
"Galing ata sa dictionary yan ah. Wala bang mas deep?" Tanong ni Al.
"Then can you tell us your 'deep' description of love?" Loki asked.
"Love is when nothing else matters except for that one person or thing." Alistair explained.
"Oh I see." Loki nodded.
"Loki has never been in love right?" Jamie said still clinging to Loki. Loki didn't reply.
I looked at Freya, she's peacefully sleeping on my thighs. I caressed her fur. Para sa pusang 'to, isa siguro ito sa mga depinisyon niya ng "love."
Totoo nga bang hindi pa nagiging "in love" si Loki? If I know, he probably felt it with Rhea. At least before. And he might even be in love with Jamie! I mean, Jamie really resembles Rhea. And Loki—
"You have this serious look on your face, Lorelei." Loki said making me snap out of my thoughts.
"H-ha? Ah... Sorry." Sabi ko at hinaplos muli si Freya.
"Ikaw Lori, what is love?" Tanong ni Al sakin.
"Uhm... Love is being able to find happiness and comfort on someone or something despite the pain and sadness." I said looking at him.
At Loki.
"Wow. What a wonderful answer, Lori! Anong hugot?" Jamie asked in amusement. Natawa na lang ako at pinagtuunan ng pansin si Freya. Hindi ko rin naman kayang sabihin ang sagot.

Tinapos ko muna ang classwork ko na sa hapon pa naman ang pasahan kahit lunch pa lang. Maganda na rin 'yon, para wala nang alalahanin mamaya. 10 minutes na ang nakalipas nang magsimula ang lunch break kaya nagmadali na rin akong pumunta sa clubroom, pero si Loki lang ang naabutan ko dito.
"Sa'n sina Jamie at Al?" Tanong ko kay Loki.
"A client came with a boring case. Jamie and Alistair accepted it to kill time." Loki answered briefly.
"Okay." 'Yan lang ang nasabi ko.
"About the question a while ago, your answer got my attention. I want to know more about this so called 'love' thing" Loki suddenly asked.
"Huh? Oh. Uhm, What else do you want to know?" I said, as if I know a lot about love.
"Expand your answer a while ago."
"Hmm. Alam mo yun, tulad ng sabi ni Alistair kanina, nothing else matters except that one person or thing. Wala kang pake kung masaktan ka man o malungkot. Basta masaya yung mahal mo, masaya ka narin."
"I see. So love is foolishness?"
"No!" Sagot ko agad. "Loving someone or something is inevitable. I mean, you can't force yourself to love or "unlove" someone. If you can, then that's false love. Kumbaga, love itself isn't foolish but it triggers foolishness." I said and paused for a bit.
"What do you mean?" Loki asked and I sighed, overwhelmed by his questions.
"It's like Pandora's box. Not necessarily bad things but, your emotions, they come out running wild, and the only thing there's left it hope. Umaasa ka nalang sa taong 'yon. Well, I mean! Pati bagay, haha." Nadulas ako sa "tao" pero mukha namang hindi iyon pinansin ni Loki kaya nagpatuloy ako.
"Some people become too emotional when they're in love and they don't think twice." I ended my explanation and looked at Freya. He suddenly stood up and walked towards me. I smiled, ready to entertain more of his questions but,
"I see. I learned a lot. Love is really complicated, but one thing's for sure." He finally reached my side but... Isn't he standing too close?
His next move startled me.
Louis Kingsley Mendez kissed me.
On the lips.
It was fast, but the feeling of his lips on mine will last forever.
"I'm foolishly in love with you and I'm not even thinking twice."
