You're awoken the next morning by a stream of sunlight through your curtains that you had mistakenly left slightly open the night before. A soft sigh leaves your lips as you sit up, stretching with a small yawn, before getting out of bed. You shuffle from your room, glancing over at the map on your desk for a few seconds and finding the blue dot you had seen the night before. It wasn't moving now. Maybe it was your tired brain playing tricks on you. You make your way into the kitchen, finding Robin already sitting at the dining room table, a cup of coffee in her hands. "Good morning." You hum, going to pour yourself a cup of coffee and joining her at the table.
"Morning," She greets with a smile. Nami trudges in with a heavy pout.
"I don't wanna go to work..." She sighs sleepily. You smile as you take a sip from your coffee.
"I don't think anyone ever wants to go to work." She whines quietly, getting herself a coffee.
"I wish we could have the same days off.... Go on a shopping spree."
"Sounds fun." Robin comments, sipping her coffee.
"It does." You nod. "Maybe one day all three of us will have the day off and we can do that."
"Maybe, I'm off, have a good day," Nami says before heading out.
"I'm going to get groceries, did you need to put anything on the list?" Robin nods to the notepad. You hum in thought before shaking your head.
"Nah I can't think of anything. If I do I'll call you."
"Alright, see you later." She finishes her coffee and heads out with her purse.
You hang around the house for a while, cleaning up the kitchen before deciding to take a quick shower. Once you're done, you decide to surprise Dellinger and pay him a visit. Smiling to yourself, you quickly get dressed, excited to see him after having been busy for most of the week with work.
You walk to his apartment that was a few blocks from your house, taking the stairs two at a time up to his door. Using your spare key, you quietly open the door, looking around the living room, but finding that he wasn't there. Maybe he was still asleep? He did tend to sleep in when he wasn't working. You shut the door behind you, making your way back to his room when a female voice catches your ears. You frown, furrowing your eyebrows as you step closer to the door, the voice unrecognizable as anyone that you knew. Opening the door, you blink in shock when you see a very naked woman pinned underneath Dellinger, her blonde hair fanned out around her and a bright smile on her face as he leaned down to kiss her.
"What the hell!?" You shout in shock, your eyes going glassy with unshed tears as you stumble back a bit into the hallway. He freezes, looking to the door.
"Who's there? ___?" You lean against the wall, shaking with either anger or sadness you weren't quite sure.
"What the hell Dellinger? Who is she?" You question, your voice cracking. He blinks.
"A friend. You're not mad, are you? Come join us." He smiles, "That'll be fun!" You look at him in shock and then disgust shaking your head.
"You are...a disgusting human being." You tell him, turning to leave the apartment.
"Okay... Call you later!" He laughs.
You slam the front door behind you, your unshed tears finally slipping down your face as you start back towards your house. How long had he been messing around? Since the beginning? Your anger and repulsion didn't even seem to faze the blond man in the slightest.
You manage to make it back to your house, the quiet darkness of it making you feel even more lonely as you made your way to your room. Closing the door behind you, you let out a shaky breath, a soft sob leaving you as you lean your head back against the door.
"Damn am I stupid. I should have listened to Nami..." You mutter to the empty room. Tilting your head towards your desk, you turn on the lamp, your eyes widening when you see the blue dot from before slowly moving across the map. You dry your face, rubbing your eyes and looking at it again. The dot continued moving across the old piece of paper, stopping for a few seconds before continuing again.
"What the..." You sit down at your desk, watching as the dot moved through the streets labeled on the map. Picking it up you watch it for a few more seconds before standing and grabbing a folder from inside your desk. Shoving the map into the folder, you run from your house, intent on finding out who or what the dot represented.
Reaching the town, you keep your mind on the map, you wouldn't let that piece of human trash keep you down. Checking the map again, you determine that the dot was in the general store. This felt a bit crazy, but you were determined to stay distracted. Once you reach the door of the general store, you stop, staring at it a bit apprehensively. You take a deep breath before shutting the folder and tucking it under your arm.
Pushing the door to the store open you look around, not spotting anything out of the ordinary immediately. You sigh quietly, starting to wander through the store to see if you could figure out what the blue for could belong to. Then, your eyes land on a blue coat, the same shade as the dot. The blond that wore it seemed a bit familiar, maybe you had gone to school with him? He seemed troubled, searching through spices.
"No good... It's not here either..." He sighs. You watch him for a few seconds as he rifles through the spices.
"Um, are you looking for something specific or?" You ask, walking closer to stand next to the blond man. He pauses briefly, before looking at you in surprise.
"Oh, you startled me... Um yeah, I'm looking for cilantro, but I guess no one in town uses it, or someone bought them all." He sighs lightly.
"Big fan of cilantro?" You question with a small smile, your eyes scanning the labels of the spices in the shelf to see if he had possibly just skipped over it.
"Uh... Yeah, it's a useful ingredient... Are you feeling well ___?" He asks you lightly.
"Hmm?" You blink up at him in slight confusion. "Um yeah, I'm fine...why do you ask?"
"Just wondering... It was nice talking to you." He offers a soft smile before starting away.
"Oh you too..." You tell him watching him leave while wracking your brain for where you had seen him before. Apparently, he knew you, but you were having a hard time placing the face. You wait until he is a little ways away, pulling the folder from under your arm to look at the map again. Just like you had though, the blue dot was following the man, tracking his every movement. "What in the world is this thing?" You murmur to yourself, tucking it back under your arm. "Maybe Robin will know something..." Actually, didn't she say she was going grocery shopping-
"Did you want to come along ___?" She asks beside you, a basket on her arm. You jump, placing a hand on your chest.
"I will never get used to you being so quiet." You tell her, looking over at the raven haired woman wearing a small smile on her face. "And uh yeah. I decided I needed to get out of the house for a while..." She peers at you for a few moments before nodding.
"Alright, shall we get liquor? " She inquires, leading you through the store.
"Yeah, sounds good." You hum, following the woman through the store. "Hey Robin, you remember that map I picked up last night?"
"Yes?" She gives you a brief curious look, picking out some bottles. You sigh rubbing your temples.
"I think I might be crazy, but..." Pulling the folder from under your arm again you look around making sure the two of you were alone before showing it to her and pointing to the blue dot. "It moves. It follows some blond guy around. Said blond guy also knows my name..." You tell her, frowning briefly. She blinks at it.
"How peculiar, I'll do research on it later... Perhaps, it wants you to follow him. Maybe he can help you feel better." You blink at her in confusion.
"Help me feel better?" You question. Sure, you felt like your heart had been ripped out and stepped on a few thousand times, but you hadn't told her that. She had always seemed especially good at reading people though. She gives you a small smile.
"I know when you're sad, we'll talk later, I'm sure Nami will know just what to do." You smile a little.
"Alright. Thanks." You tell her, following her through the rest of the aisles to help her finish up the grocery shopping.
On your way out, you spot the blond man from before across the street, peering through windows. "Oh hey, that's him." You whisper, nudging Robin in the side and tilting your head at the man. "I wonder what he's looking for..." She follows your gaze and giggles lightly.
"That's Sabo, he went to school with us," She points out. You blink looking over at him again finally placing the face with the name. You hadn't really talked to him before, only really saw him in passing, and not for more than a few seconds.
"So that's why he looked familiar."
"He's a nice guy, I think you would get along well." She hums thoughtfully, starting home.
"Right. And what exactly would be my reason to get in touch with him?" You ask, a small joking smile on your face. "Hey Sabo, I know we've never really talked before but see, I found this map with a dot on it that follows you everywhere you go so I was thinking we could hang out sometime or something?"
"Maybe. Or you could just ask him out for coffee." She giggles.
"Yeah that's probably a better idea." You laugh. "It's probably still a little weird for me to just randomly ask him out though..."
"True, perhaps next time you wish to follow him." She teases lightly.
"Hey! It's not like I knew I was following him. It was just a blue dot!" You defend, as you reach home and unlock the door to your house, going inside and helping her put up the groceries.
"Fufufu, if you say." She giggles lightly, "There's still a few hours before Nami returns, I'm going to be reading unless you want to do something together?"
"Nah you go ahead. I think I'm going to do some research on this." You tell her, holding up the folder for her to see. "See if I can figure out why it follows him around."
"Alright Good Luck." She smiles before going to her library.
You smile at her until she disappears into her library, heaving a sigh once she is gone and retreating to your room. Sitting down at your desk, you open your laptop, staring at the search bar in the tab of your browser. "What do I even search for?" You mutter to yourself. Starting with just a basic description of the map, you find nothing of interest and start searching a little deeper.
Hours had passed without you realizing, you being too wrapped up in your research to pay attention to the time. Hearing the front door shut makes you jump a little, sitting up from your slouched position in your chair and waiting to see where the strawberry blonde woman would go first.
"Girls! I brought chocolate!" Nami chimes, going into the kitchen.
"Welcome home." Robin greets. You close your laptop and come out of your room giving the woman a wave.
"Have a good day at work?"
"It was awful, so I got something sweet to eat." She smiles. "How was your day?" She asks, offering you a candy bar.
"It was...eventful." You hum choosing your words carefully as you took the candy bar from her. Unwrapping the corner you take a small bite of it. She blinks at you and frowns lightly.
"What happened?" She asks you as Robin comes over and takes a piece of chocolate. You hum, taking a bite of your candy bar, a wave of sadness hitting you in the chest.
"You were right about Dellinger." You say simply. She blinks a few times.
"Oh... Get my bail money ready." She states, suddenly going to her room.
"We shouldn't need it if we hide the body well enough." Robin comments.
"What body? There's not going to be anything left by the time I'm through with that stupid bastard!" Nami calls.
"It's okay you guys! Really. Don't get yourselves into trouble. He will get what's coming to him one day." You tell the both of them, trying to calm the two women down.
"Oh no, the only one who's in trouble is him!" Nami rumbles, coming out with tubes of super glue, dressed in her stealth attire. Robin soon joins her holding an electric razor. They both had sweet smiles on their lips and alarming auras.
"Anyone who harms our roommate meets karma early." Robin hums. You laugh, looking at the two woman before shaking your head.
"Hold on, let me go change." You tell them, disappearing into your room to change quickly before joining them again. "Alright, let's see how badly we can mess him up." Nami grins and leads the way out.
"I'm supergluing everything! His blankets, the toilet seats, his fridge, the cabinets, hell even the doors!" She rants.
"I'll tie him up after we knock him out and shave his head." Robin decides. You giggle, walking in between the two woman with a small smile.
"You two are the best." You tell them, taking the key to his apartment from your pocket and unlocking the door that you had so angrily slammed earlier that day. They march in, Nami immediately superglues the door shut behind you.
"We'll use the window." She breathes. Robin walks into the kitchen and takes a skillet, humming quietly before knocking on the wall loudly.
"Coming!" Dellinger calls. As soon as he appears around the corner, she knocks him out with the skillet.
"We have twenty minutes to wreck his shit." She smiles.
"Ooo! Robin! Help me glue his furniture to the ceiling!" Nami gasps.
"... I'll have to knock him out a few more times but alright." Robin hums, setting the razor down.
"I can take care of keeping him out." You hum, picking up the skillet and spinning it in your hand. "You two do whatever it is you wanna do." Making your way down the short hall, you use your toe to push open his bedroom door, finding it empty. "Guess she left." You mumble to yourself, the scene from earlier that day playing in your head. You scrunch your eyes closed, shutting the door and moving through other rooms, making sure to grab anything that belonged to you. After that, you go back to the living room where a good portion of Dellinger's furniture was stuck to the ceiling. "Well done guys..." You comment in astonishment. Hearing Dellinger groan, you lean down, hitting him over the head again and knocking him out cold.
"Anything else you want to do?" Nami asks you. "I got one more tube of superglue~" You shrug at first, not really sure what else you'd want to do. Looking over at Dellinger though, you grin, holding out your hand for the super glue. When she hands it to you, you cover one of the blonde's hands in it sticking it over his mouth but leaving room under his nose so he could breathe. The other hand gets covered as well, but this one you shoved down the front of his shorts, guessing where you needed to be and laughing.
"That should be fun to deal with you cheating asshole." You hum standing up and holding the tube of glue back out to Nami.
"Nice... Now, how about we go out for dinner?" Nami giggles. "It's on Dellinger~" She holds up his cash.
"Sounds lovely." Robin giggles.
"Wonderful idea." You smirk, hoisting the window open for the two women before climbing out behind them and gluing it shut as well. "Ahh, I feel much better." You tell them, taking the stairs of the fire escape down the street.
"I'm glad you do," Robin hums while Nami hugs you.
"The next guy will treat you like a queen, I just know it!" She hums happily.
"Hmm hopefully." You smile a little. "Though I don't think I'll be looking for anyone too soon."
"I can understand that," Robin hums.
"Being single has its perks." Nami agrees as you three reach the town and enter a buffet type place.
"That's true." You nod, waiting for Nami to pay for the three of you before heading back to grab plates. You wander through the different sections, adding things to your plate here and there that you thought sounded good.
"Meat!" A brunette guy rushes past you, nearly knocking you over.
"Luffy! Mind your surroundings," A voice scolds, as someone steadies you. "I'm really sorry about that - Oh, hello again." Looking up you lock eyes with the blond man from earlier.
"Hi. Nice to see you again so soon." You say, righting your footing a little so you were facing him.
"Heh... Yeah..." He looks to the side briefly, "Listen, if you want any meat on your plate, I suggest you hurry and grab it before my brother vacuums it up." He chuckles, giving a sheepish smile. You smile a little, looking down at your mostly full plate and showing it to him.
"I think I'm good. Thanks for letting me know though. I'll make sure to grab extra of anything I might want seconds of." You spot Nami and Robin out of the corner of your eye, giving him a smile. "Well Sabo, have a good evening." He blinks in surprise, offering a grin.
"Uh, yeah, you too ___." You smile, giving him a small wave before going to join Nami and Robin. You start picking at your food, choosing a piece of pizza to eat first. "What did you guys get?"
"Some good stuff!" Nami giggles cheerfully.
"Fufufu, this is a nice place, and ___, I just remembered something from one of those old books I was reading." Robin leads you to a booth.
"Oh? What did you find?" You question, sliding into the booth across from her and picking up the slice of pizza you had chosen. "Something interesting?"
"Well, near the war, the army started making a special map to help track down mages. However, since the materials for one were rare, only three were ever made." She informs you.
"Wow, that sounds like an amazing find." Nami gasps.
"So you think that the one I got last night might be one of those?" You ask, taking a bite of your pizza as you shift your gaze to the blond man who was still at the buffet attempting to pull the man with him away from one of the plates at the meat counter.
"That's the only thing I could think of," Robin admits. Sabo manages to pull his brother to a table, sitting down with their plates. He peers over at you and pauses, catching your gaze before looking back down quickly again. You chuckle, shifting your gaze back to Robin.
"That is interesting then..."
"Interesting indeed." She says thoughtfully.
"But... Aren't there still hunters looking for mages?" Nami murmurs.
"That's true, we should probably keep the map a secret." Robin frowns lightly. You nod in agreement.
"I'll keep it safe. I wouldn't want it to fall into the wrong hands and have someone end up hurt because of it."
"Yeah- Gah!" Nami gasps as a bone lands on the table, you look across the way to see Sabo gaping toward the table in slight horror. Luffy looked over as well with stuffed cheeks, offering an apologetic wave. You stare in shock for a few seconds before starting to laugh, waving over at Luffy to acknowledge that you had seen him.
"Well, that was a surprise." You manage in between laughter. Sabo comes over swiftly plucking the bone from the table.
"I am so sorry ladies..." He says in embarrassment. You smile up at him.
"Don't worry about it. It was pretty funny. Good thing it didn't hit anyone though."
"... That was gross..." Nami whispers.
"It's okay Sabo, he must be very hungry today." Robin comments.
"Y-Yeah, sorry to be a bother." His eyes shift to you briefly.
"Fufufu, really it's okay." Robin giggles.
"Sabo! I'm getting another plate!" Luffy calls.
"Already!?" Sabo gasps before sighing. "I'm going to be here a while..." You chuckle watching as Luffy runs to grab another plate, disappearing between the aisles of buffet tables.
"It does look like it." You hum, looking up Sabo with a small smile. He peers at you shifts.
"Yeah... Sorry again." He breathes before returning to his table. Robin giggles lightly at that.
"He's so sweet." You giggle, pushing your now empty plate away. "I'm surprised I didn't recognize him the first time I saw him."
"Well... I suppose you can say, he wasn't exactly on your radar in school." Robin points out.
"Oh yeah, you were all about the bad boys, Zoro, Law, I think you had a thing for Kid too but he's was a bit... Much." Nami sweatdrops.
"That's true." You laugh. "The bad ones are always so much fun. They do end up causing a lot of trouble in the end though."
"Yeah," Nami agrees, pushing her plate away. "Dessert time!" She smiles before getting up and going to get a different plate.
"If I may say, sometimes the sweet ones can be just as dangerous." Robin hums before going to get some dessert as well. You follow the two women, grabbing a plate and searching the dessert bar for all the sweets that sounded appetizing.
"Um... Excuse me ___?" His voice manages, grabbing some dessert as well.
"Hmm?" You look up at the man, giving him a small smile. "What's up?"
He swallows, "I um... Was wondering if you'd like to get a drink with me- Not like a date! You probably already have a boyfriend but I-I just thought that maybe we could... Hang out..." He stammers. You blink at him in surprise before giggling.
"That sounds nice. I'd like that. And don't worry, no boyfriend here." You hum, grabbing a cookie off a tray and adding it to your plate. He seemed genuinely surprised by your answer but smiles widely.
"Alright then, is tonight good or?"
"Sure tonight sounds great." You nod. "How about after we leave here? Or do you need to take Luffy home first?"
"Sure, we don't live far from here, so he can walk home on his own." He was grinning at this point. You smile up at him.
"Okay. Well, let me tell Nami and Robin, then we can go if you want?"
"Sure, no rush." He rumbles before heading back to his table. You go to your table sitting down with a small smile. Taking a bite of the cake you had gotten, you look at the plates that the other two woman had gotten.
"Oh, by the way, I have a 'not date' after this." You giggle.
"Really? Fufu sounds like fun." Robin giggles.
"If it goes bad text us, we'll get you out." Nami gives a wink.
"I'm sure I'll be fine." You hum, giving the two women a small smile. "But I'll keep that in mind."
"Alright then," Robin hums. The three of you soon finish your desserts, Nami and Robin wish you a good 'not date' and head out. You peer over as Sabo approaches you with a small smile.
"Ready?" He asks lightly.
"Sure." You nod, standing and rocking on your heels a little. "Any place you had in mind?"
"The pub, unless you prefer someplace else," He offers a slight shrug.
"That works for me. I'm not picky." You smile, following him out of the buffet and along the sidewalk towards the pub.
"So... How have you been?" He asks rather awkwardly.
"I've been..okay." You hum, falling into step next to him. "What about you? What have you been
"I've been alright, today's the most interesting one I've had in a long time." He smiles sheepishly. "Kinda weird though."
"Oh? Why do you say that?" You question, looking over at him with a raised eyebrow. He glances at you seeming hesitant to say.
"I think this is the first time you've actually seen me." He admits. "Pretty random to be approached by you."
"Heh..." You scratch the back of your neck, glancing at the sidewalk. "Not that I didn't see you. I was just...distracted." You tell him. "As for running into you today, let's just call that a coincidence."
"Right... Still, it was nice." He comments before looking at you, "You look like you're in a better mood than earlier too."
"Yeah. Much better actually." You hum. "I had a pretty rough start to the day, but it's gotten better."
"That's good," He leads you into the pub, taking a seat at the bar with you. "May I ask about the bad part?" You place your chin in your hand tilting your head.
"Well, I found my now ex-boyfriend tangled up in bed with some girl this morning." You tell him, a small sad smile on your lips. He blinks.
"Oh, did you get him back?" He orders you both a special drink. Grinning, you nod.
"Oh yeah. He is in for a surprise whenever he wakes up. I'm surprised I haven't gotten a few angry calls."
"That's good at least." Sabo comments, the dark blue drinks are set in front of you. "Here, it's called the blue dragon, sweet but it has a good kick to it, supposed to help you feel better." He smiles, nudging it to you.
"It's pretty." You tell him, taking the glass and looking through it. "Well, here's to... Coincidences."
"Coincidences." He agrees, touching his glass to yours before drinking. You take a sip from yours, setting it back on the bar.
"It is really good. Thank you."
"No problem," He sits back, peering at you briefly before looking at his drink. "I'm not sure what else we could do here." You look around and shrug.
"I don't either." You laugh, taking another sip of your drink.
"Ah well, still nice... Maybe next time I'll have more of an idea on what we can do." He breathes sheepishly.
"Next time?" You giggle, watching the blonde. "That sounds nice, even if we do just get drinks."
"Mm, maybe not just drinks next time..." He hums, closing his blue eyes briefly with a hum. "I'll think of something else.... I can walk you home when you're ready to go.?" Finishing off your drink, you stand from your chair.
"I'll take you up on that." You tell him, waiting for him to finish his drink before both of you step back outside the pub and you start on your way home.
"I'm glad you wanted to come." He comments, peering at the night sky. A man steps into your paths, holding up a gun.
"Wallets, now." He orders. You stop, your heart dropping as you raise your hands up in front of you.
"Okay...just give me a second to find it." You tell the man, your voice shaking as you stare at the gun pointed in your direction. Sabo blinks, touching your shoulder briefly before stepping forward.
"Stay back!" The man warns.
"I don't appreciate you scaring her like that." Sabo breathes grabbing the man's arm and twisting it, catching the gun as the man drops it. "Now go home and reevaluate your life." He rumbles with a smile, pushing him back. The man holds his arm in pain and swiftly scrambles away. Sabo turns to you with a frown. "Are you okay?"
"I uh..." You drop your hands to your sides, your fingers still shaking as you let out a deep breath. "Yeah...I uh...I'm okay." He blinks and swiftly drops the gun in a trashcan before coming back over and hugging you.
"It's okay, you're safe." He rubs your back softly. You relax, leaning your forehead against his chest and wrapping your arms around him.
"Thank you."
"I'm sorry you got scared like that, let's get you home." He breathes pulling back.
"It's okay." You tell him, stepping away to turn back in the direction the two of you had been headed. "I'm just a little bit further this way."
"Alright." He offers a soft smile, walking beside you. The two of you walk in comfortable silence for a little while longer before you stop in front of your door.
"Well, thank you for inviting me out and for earlier..."
"No problem, I hope next time goes better... Goodnight." He smiles softly, offering a slight bow.
"I'm sure it will. Goodnight Sabo." You smile, unlocking your door. "Be safe on the way home okay?"
"Don't worry about me." He rumbles before steadily heading off. You chuckle, watching him walk down the sidewalk before going inside and shutting the door with a soft click.
"Hey guys, I'm back!"
"Hey, how was your 'not date'?" Robin asks from the living room.
"There's ice cream in the fridge," Nami adds.
"It was very nice." You tell her, going to the kitchen to grab a bowl of ice cream. "He is incredibly sweet. The perfect gentleman." Taking a bite from your ice cream you sit down beside them. "He even took down a guy who tried to mug us in our way home."
"Wow, go Sabo." Nami giggles.
"Told you so." Robin hums lightly, "Today ended nicely."
"It did." You nod, a happy smile on your face. Finishing your ice cream, you stand from the couch. "I'm gonna head to bed. Night you two."
"Goodnight." They chime and you return to your room, peering at the map thoughtfully, finding the blue spot heading back into town before suddenly disappearing.
"What the hell?" Blinking, you rub your eyes and look at the map again. "Where did you go, Sabo?" You whisper worriedly, sitting down at your desk and watching the paper to seeing the dot would reappear, hoping that it was just a fluke. It soon reappears on the other side of the town before going across the street and disappearing again. "What are you doing?" It doesn't reappear for a bit before reappearing with a red dot then soon disappearing across the street. It didn't make any sense, earlier it was showing him in the buildings too, but... Just where did he disappear to? You watch the two dots for a few seconds before yawning. "I'll worry about this another time." You mumble to yourself, standing and changing before crawling under your blankets for the night.
