Kylo Ren killed the apprentice, but it took him all of his strength. He fell to his knees, panting heavily with sweat trickling down his face. He looked at the apprentice, lifeless and pale with his yellow eyes staring into nothing. Kylo Ren did it, he let the Dark Side take over. He let his rage command his movements, and his hate guide him. His eyes were now yellow.

"You have done well, Kylo Ren." Snoke emerged from the darkest shadows of the room, and approached him. "Let go of what light remains, and let the darkness consume you."

Kylo Ren bowed his head, allowing the darkness erase the remnants of the light. He let go of his love for his mother, and father. It was a painful process, as the toll of killing Han broke him. He hated himself, and accepted that he was indeed a monster. He couldn't forgive himself for what he did, and it was working. He could feel the darkness slowly consume him...

Until he heard her voice.

Ben...

It was Rey.

Once again, he let the light in. It was faint, but it was still there and he didn't want to lose it. As much as he believed he was a monster, he didn't want to be. And whenever he was in Rey's presence, he didn't feel like one. She had forgiven him for what he did to Han; for what supposedly was an unforgivable act of monstrosity. Yet, she forgave him, and that had awakened the hope he thought was lost forever.

He held onto that hope, and when he did his eyes turned back to their natural dark brown. He looked up at Snoke, without fear, nor anger but a firm calmness. "I apologize," he said. "Supreme Leader...This conflict within me, has brought me nothing but pain. A pain I fear, I will never escape. It is through this pain that gave me the strength to defeat my opponent. It is this pain that has brought me this far. Will you let me keep this pain? This...conflict?"

Snoke debated on an answer, staring down at Kylo Ren thoughtfully. He wasn't disappointed, but rather intrigued of Kylo Ren's progress. He did just kill a Sith apprentice, and for a moment let the Dark Side take control. He sensed it was wavering, battling the light within him. He knew what he feared was true; Kylo Ren will always be tempted by the light. And this meant the Holocron will never choose him.

"For now," said Snoke, as he turned to leave. "Let's return to the temple..."

Draven stood by the platform, awaiting Snoke and Kylo Ren's return. He had to make an excuse as to why he wasn't training Rey at that very moment. If he didn't tread carefully, he'd taste the wrath of Kylo Ren's saber as had before. He was contemplating whether or not he should look for Rey. He trusted his instincts though, and he knew she'd come back but he was uncertain when she would.
