So far, dating James has been the best decision I've made all season. He's such a great person and he's so sweet with Norway. For our first date, he took me to a fancy restaurant and we went to the iHeart Music Awards. On our second date, we started the night at an amusement park, but I got sick from the rides. Being the amazing boyfriend that James is, he took me back to my apartment and we watched movies with Norway. Just yesterday, he took me to a Halloween party with the rest of the Indy Car drivers. I think it's safe to say that this is the season of my life. It's been phenomenal and when it's all over, I don't know what I'll do.

Which could be sooner than I expected...

During dress rehearsal for last week's team dance, which was awesome, I tripped on a piece of my dress and I felt something pop in my knee. I would've kept dancing, but I've had surgery on that knee and it scared me to think that something could be wrong with it again. James was incredibly supportive through the whole ordeal. Honestly, I think the injury scared him too. I went to the doctor and they told me that a ligament in my knee was at risk to tear completely and I should take three to six weeks off. My heart sunk to my feet. How could I tell James that we may never dance again? Well, at least for the rest of the season. He'll be devastated.

I had to tell him though, so he could get a new partner. I could tell he was upset, but he told me that I needed to take care of myself and get better. In the end, he got another fantastic partner, Jenna. I had to teach her our Harley Quinn and the Joker Viennese Waltz, and they looked perfect doing the dance together. Their chemistry together was out of this world. Yes, it did hurt to see James with somebody else, but if I wanted to get back to him before the end of the season, I had to let him dance with Jenna.

Show night was better than I ever could've imagined. Not only did Norway attend her first show, but James and Jenna did great and got our first perfect score! As I watched everything unfold, I almost started crying. I was so happy for him, hearing the audience's cheers made me feel so proud. Not only as his coach and teacher, but also as his girlfriend.

Even with a knee injury, I still managed to dance with James that night. There was a Dancing with the Stars Halloween cast party after the show. We revealed that we were in a relationship and James danced with me during a slow song. I kept glancing over at Norway while we were dancing and she had an indescribable glimmer in her eyes that I had never seen before. It may have been the makeup she had on for her Mad Hatter costume, but I'd like to think it was because of James and me. The three of us danced all night after that. Norway even met some of the celebrities. She instantly bonded with Laurie; their personalities are identical. Laurie, in the span of about three hours, became like an older sister to Norway. She protected Norway and danced around with her all night.

Toward the end of the party, Norway fell asleep on a couch. Even with music blaring in her ears, the neon lights encasing the room in its light, and everybody talking, she was still asleep. I didn't want the night to be over for her, so I asked Val to call Laurie's parents to ask if it would be okay for her to sleep over at my apartment. Her parents said that was okay, so we gathered our belongings and got ready to leave. Laurie somehow picked up Norway without waking her up and carried her out to our car. Laurie is amazing. If I've learned anything about my daughter, it's to never wake her up unless you absolutely have to. Laurie went back to her house and got a bag together. She came back and Norway was awake, I think they tried to stay awake all night, because there were dirty ice cream bowls on the kitchen counter and three movies sitting out on the TV stand. Norway was fast asleep on the couch and Laurie was sleeping on the floor. I shook my head and rolled my eyes as I began to clean up their mess.

When it came time for Laurie to leave, Norway was upset. Obviously. I promised her that I would let them hang out again, but she still wouldn't let Laurie leave. I basically had to pry Norway off of her. As annoying as it was, I was glad Norway had found somebody that she thought of as an older sister, somebody she could look up to. And that person just so happened to be a gold medal winning gymnast. How many people get to be friends with a person like that? Not many.

Norway spent the rest of the day doing her schoolwork, she and I got our nails done, and then I had a doctor's appointment for my knee. I'm still not cleared to dance, which means Jenna will probably be partnered with James for at least one more week. I guess I'm okay with that, they're good together. On the flip side, I really do miss getting to rehearse and laugh with James all day. Like he said though, I need to take care of myself and not rush my recovery.

i really like this chapter. idk why. anyway...

story time!

this story takes place at my school's field day. so we were getting ready to board busses to go to the field where the games and stuff are. my school is REALLY competitive, so everybody had team shirts and face paint and team flags. my homeroom was the ______ Goobers (i didn't want to say my teacher's name). our team name was inspired by the song from spongebob called "i'm a goofy goober". every homeroom gets to run to the busses by themselves and display their flags, all of that fun stuff. my homeroom was all screaming and we were crowded by the door, with the goofy goober song blasting in our ears. they finally told us to go and my homeroom (including me oops lol) all legit sprint down the hallway screaming, "IM A GOOFY GOOBER" as the song plays. the grade on the floor below us was in class but we still kept yelling and stuff. nobody cared though hahaha. I MISS MY GOOBER HOMEROOM GAHHH
