Riley Novak is just like your regular degular quiet country girl still trying to get used to the new city. She figured moving from her school in Valdosta to a totally different environment her senior year would be a breeze, until she met HIM. Will s...
It was about two or three weeks after spring break and after the whole-me and Chris ting-and no one has brought it up since. I can tell Chris was ready to get back into a decent relationship with me, and in all honesty i was ready to do the same with him, but I was still with Russ and I was sort of waiting for him to break it off with me instead of me telling him the truth about me and Chris and breaking it off with him. I knew he really liked me and it'd probably hurt him. I'm almost certain he isn't with Liza anymore. I never see them walk around together anymore and she's always giving me the nastiest mug whenever we cross each other. I just hope she's smart enough to not try to check me about anything. Anyway, Bryson Tiller's new album blasted on Reagan's Beats Pill while we got ready for school alongside each other in the bathroom. She styled her hair up as I fixed my outfit. I felt like getting cute since lately all of my outfits I've been wearing has been consisting of t-shirts, sweatpants, and Chick Fil A uniforms. Today I had on a yellow fitted dress and a pair of all white vans. I put my hair in a high curly ponytail and accessorized with gold jewelry.

As we both finished up in the bathroom, we exited and walked our separate ways to our rooms to continue getting ready. We had one month left until graduation so we weren't doing shit but make up work and review to redeem any missing credits. After grabbing a denim jacket, since my school will cry over the smallest piece of skin showing, I headed downstairs to acknowledge my daddy and brother.
"Good morning handsomes." I greeted the both of them with a slight hug and a kiss on the forehead.
"Hey School Bus. where's Ray?" I giggled at my dad's analogy, referring to my bright yellow outfit. "Whatever Daddy. She's probably still getting ready. What'd you cook this morning?"
"Bacon."
"And?" I waited for him to finish listing.
"And that's it." He told me. I sucked my teeth and seized a piece of bacon from Raheem's plate. "Aye keep your hands out my food lil girl. And you know you can't wear sleeveless clothes to school."
"I'm gonna have my jacket on all day."
"Yea, you better." Daddy tagged in.
"Y'all are always co-signing each other. I'm starting to think there's a Strange Thing About The Novaks that I don't know about." I rose one eyebrow in suspicion jokingly.
Raheem shooed me off and stood up, going to dispose of the scraps of bacon he had leftover. "Nah, me and pops don't eat Din Din."
"What's Din Din?" Daddy questioned us. "Dinner? We just had Din Din together last night, 'Heem."
I laughed hysterically at my dad's ignorance towards what we were referring to, along with Raheem. "I didn't know y'all got down like that."
