Scared and shaking you told him what happened to Armin and begged him to help him. He agreed and both of you made your way back towards the place. You finally had sight contact and Reiner told you to stay back, you nodded and slowed down a little, Jean had also arrived at the spot and started to fight with the huge titan. You witnessed how it kicked Armin while it dealt with Jeans wire, he landed on the ground with a bleeding head. You dashed towards him with your horse and managed to grab his arm pulling him up to your horse. Reiner finally joined the battle and you used the distraction to gain distance. The titan managed to fight him off and grabbed him finally, you turned around seeing him struggle in the tight fist of the female looking titan who seconds later squashed him to pieces, a loud scream left your lips as you thought he was dead. More tears were falling from your eyes as they turned blank, then suddenly blood was flying everywhere as Reiner cut his way through the palm of the female titan. He managed to wound it for a moment and used the opportunity to flee

"GO EVERYONE!!!" he screamed as he climbed his horse and dashed forward, you followed his order and speeded up towards the forest, you look over your shoulder to see the location of the female titan, it was still on it's knees not chasing after you. You breath out in relieve and followed the other 2.

You arrived at the forest after receiving your orders and climbed the trees, you were in the same team as Christa, Ymir, Reiner, Berthold, Cony and Sasha. Your orders were to hinder smaller titans from entering the forest while the female titan was lured into a trap that waited in the middle of the forest. The outpost was perfect to spot the nearby titans since the trees where so huge, the surrounding area was a clear field so you could see a long way and act immediately once a titan would approach.

The first targets were easy to eliminate, the female titan had entered the forest a while ago and you had no further information how the operation was going. After some time you heard a loud scream that shook you with fear, you wondered what was going on in there. Cony spotted something in his binoculars and looked up shocked

"G-Guys... you have to take a look at this" everyone turned around and stepped a little closer, your eyes widened in shock as you saw the huge group of titans approaching.

"W-What is that?? Why are there so many of them coming here?" Sasha asked stepping back

"Maybe it's because of the scream we heard earlier" you swallowed nervously and climbed on another tree to see if they were approaching from other directions as well

"Impossible... why are they suddenly drawn to this place??" Reiner stepped next to you

"We should climb higher, there are some abnormals under them" you nodded

"Everyone, let's climb higher!" everyone started climbing up the branches to avoid the titans to reach you.

It was to dangerous to take them out while so many of them were surrounding the trees, you hold on to the braches tightly and observed them, they began trying to climb the trees

"It's only a mater of time until they succeed, they seem to learn pretty fast" Berthold mumbled, the sun started setting slowly

"Looks like we have to spend the night here... everyone climb as high as possible to avoid them to climb up" Reiner said.

It was queit, only the sound of the owl echoed in the night air. You were tired but tried not to fall asleep since your fear of falling down was too high, everyone else seemed fine since you could hear them snoring calmly. Your eyes look down to see the titans resting against the trees, for some reason they did not move at night... More time passed and your eyelids grew heavier, morning was close and you haven't slept a second. The sun started rising slowly and then your eyes finally shut, the branch you were sitting was not really secure and not made for sleeping, you learn that the moment your body weight shift to one side and you fell. Luckily Reiner was awake already and the moment he open his eyes he saw you falling down from the branch.

"(First name)!" he called out and shoot his anchor into the tree and jumped after you, you gained consciousness while you fell and saw how dangerously close the ground was getting, you turned in mid air and grabbed your anchor wanting to shoot it but it missed the branch you were aiming for, you continued to fall down until you saw Reiner jumping after you. His hands caught you and he quickly reel in the anchor, you were only a few meters away from the ground and the titans began moving slowly once the light cleared the night sky. You hold on to his jacked while you gained distance from the ground

"T-Thank you for saving me..." you stuttered still shaking from shock

"Sure, you were really lucky that I woke up the moment you fell... otherwise this would have ended badly" you nodded and soon he reached a branch that was high enough and settled down, you lean against the tree and tried to calm down from the shock, Reiner sit down next to you and you hid your face on your knees, it was quiet for a while until he looked at you from the corner of his eyes

"If you still want to sleep then I will keep watch so you can rest at ease" he offered, you were happy about his offer and nodded

"Until we receive further orders you can rest, I will wake you once we have to start moving" you nodded slowly and rested your head against the tree

"Thank you, I really appreciate your offer, I haven't had a good nights rest for a few days ever since I knew we where heading out for the expedition" Reiner watched you as you closed your eyes, it did not take long until you drifted off to sleep, he crossed his arms and smiled relieved

"Good night... sleep well" Reiner observed the slowly raising sun until he felt something shifting on his shoulder, his eyes looked to the side and he noticed your head resting against his shoulder. He blushed lightly and looked away embarrassed, he raised his free hand and covered his face trying to calm himself

"Pull yourself together man..." he thought to himself before he slowly removed his hand after a moment and looked back at you, you were sleeping sound asleep probably not realizing what you were doing. Reiner observed you for a moment until he finally smiled, his body shifted a little and he carefully took your head and brought it down to his lap where he let you lay down more comfortably, his hand lightly brushed over your hair as he listed to your breathing, your cheeks were so soft an warm that it let him completely forget what his actual intentions where, even if it was just for a moment...

Berthold woke up a while later and he looked out for Reiner who wasn't in his spot, he searched for him until he found him sitting a few branches below his, the moment he captured with his eyes made him develop doubts about their plan... Reiner was brushing your hair while your head rested in his lap, the scene really angered him but before he could do anything the others woke up and he had to put his poker face on again.
