The soul & heart of tradition,
to 'provide' tea, tobacco & coffee
to the world, was it's supposed
mission. Sure other countries like
France & Great Britain are cool oh
but Africa, it was like no other...
It was wealthy, on gold & that style
never gets old. And the men who
came here to grasp it with both hands
weren't just white. They were European.
Apparently coming here to bring order..
What do they mean?...?
Colonisation? Partition? Just means more
complications. Children mutter the word
'meanies' as they try to ignore screaming
of the mothers, carrying the the big baskets
of coal.
The land of wealth, tradition & culture
became a land of war, politics & hard
labour. Imbali ye Africa libali elibuhlungu
Which means: Africa's story is indeed, a sad
one.

I may not be one for politics but I do love History. And I've come to realize that History is very important, especially in a county like mine. Of course I have no problem with European people, quite the contrary, I have European family. Like cousins and uncles. (I think I have a cousin in New York and an Uncle in.. Chicago)
I am not racist, before anyone jumps to conclusions. 😅 I wrote this poem last year, I got inspiration from my History teacher Mr Lebethe. Someone give a round of applause, that guy is the best History teacher you can find, a little bipolar but we still love him.
Dedicated to all the Africans on Wattpad. Coloured, White, Black, Indian. What does it matter? We are the same inside, right?
