I fly

With this weight upon my chest I try
I try, try and learn from my reasons why
With my mental getting racy
Try and find my reason why I  fly
With the blink of an eye on the outside looking in
can't see the pain I'm in
So again I try
my wings shutter, kick  thrash and sputter
I melt like butter
all the clutter
bad for my head
Small part of her wishing shed stayed in bed
instead she's on the rooftop , gazing at the emptiness around and looking at the ground.
hurling herself
to combine with the wind
leave behind the pain within
breathing slow she takes one leap
granted it isn't much for her shackles barely move an inch.
but still she tries
One day she will take flight
What a sight.
with all her might she takes flight
Gazing, open, wandering
Mind no longer pondering
Skin like milk chocolate
Eyes like the kisses she didn't get
Hair as wild as it can be with tightest curls that can be
Still she sees it
Just out of reach
She's flying, no gliding in the air
no more cares
She's flying, no longer dying
Cause with one last step she makes a choice
It's her voice and so she wants to share it.
When you believe it's you and not them
you get back from the darkness within
The shackles that bind, loosen with time
and when she reached out to the Spread her damaged wings, a new Pair emerged
For she had surged
An angel like flight
What a sight
No longer trapped in metal
Made her mental
She flew for she knew
She knew she was new.

An angel can't fly without her wings so she tries with strings
or rather uncomfortable attachments
that bring her arms out with a shout
these things will break her if she holds on
She lets go and something happens
chest is lifted has formed and shifted
years of pain drove her insane
Now gone is the shame that drove her there and took her where one could dream to uncover
A mother
A sister
Watch in awe as she takes flight through it all
Stones hurled and tossed in her direction
Then she catches her reflection stares and looks over yonder no more ponder
To see their the ones throwing in her direction wish she never looked at the crowd
she's looking down
down, all she sees as she's hit with ease.
she cries out, begging PLEASE
as she comes to the conclusion....
there was no confusion
to escape the pain, it's simple and plain
it's not with ease but there's a fight
one worth all her might
So she takes flight against the chains
simple and plain
She flies in the face of pain
after all she tried.
