Chapter 11
He dusts his hands off dramatically and smiles at me. "Done, M'lady."I sit up from the very uncomfortable seat I was resting on, also known as the toilet.
"How bad is it?" I ask, looking into the mirror.
He had wrapped a fresh, new bandage around my wound and secured it. It has been hurting a lot less recently.
"It's not too bad, made quite a cut; but luckily didn't get too deep." He smiled sympathetically.
I nod my head. The guilt has been eating me up alive; here I am, in a strangers house, while my mother had just been transferred into a hospital.
I think if this happened in the time period, where my mom and I weren't doing well; I wouldn't care. I just have no clue what made her act like that. Is she on her medication again? I don't know how she was able to retrieve it though.
"You know, I'm glad you came." He smiled.
His smile is absolutely gorgeous. Yet, I have no information on this guy, not even the simplest of things.
I nearly smack my face, I can't even believe I forgot this. "What's your name again, I'm sorry. I've just haven't been all there, this whole week."
"I'm Ivan and it's alright, I don't even think I mentioned it."
"Well Ivan, I am really sorry. I'm Ivory, I hope I said that." I smiled.
"You did of course and you have had a very busy week, can't blame you."
I'm not sure how he knew. Maybe I had texted him? Or maybe I'm on the news? Could be; because many hectic and News worthy things have happened to me.
"So anyway, did you want some food? Drinks? Anything for my beautiful guest."
My cheeks rose in colour. "Just some water, thank you."
He waved his hands to silence me. "No problem at all, make yourself at home."
I smiled and made my way to his living room, it was decorated beautifully. The walls were a rich cream colour, with accents of black and gold. He had nice white weather couches to go with his walls and a square shaped , Multi-coloured carpet, with a creative diamond pattern on it.
Ivan walks in with two glasses of water and sets them on coasters on the coffee table. He walks off again and reappears seconds later; with papers in his hand.
He takes a seat beside me and places the papers neatly on the coffee table in front of us.
"You obviously have some understanding of this job, But how much do you know?" He looks at me curiously.
I began to explain all I know, from the newspapers, to my mom acting weird and situations that have happened on the job site.
He nods his hand quietly and continues listening. "Do you have any clue why your mom was acting weird?" He looked at me; I felt his eyes peering and burning holes through my body.
I shrugged my shoulders. "She possibly knew all about what was happening, since it was on the news."
"Or she could've possibly, have been involved in this situation."
"Could be, but do you really think; she was involved? I mean; I know my mom and she's not the type of person to work as an Over- night guard at a restaurant; besides, she has no experience with being a mechanic; she can't even decipher the difference between a wrench and a hammer."
