Wattpad has the habit of preferring the repetition of the SAME thing over new INNOVATIVE, FRESH AND CLICHE FREE ideas. I'm well aware of the fact that majority of the members on Wattpad are hormonal females, myself included, but consuming the same tired plot with a bad boy player and the nerdy/sarcastic Juno girl/repeat of 50 Shades of Grey mixed with 10 Things I Hate About You is beginning to get on my nerves.

I'm not going to stoop so low as to open all of these and criticize the author's work word for word, because I know if I were the author of these books, good or bad, such direct bullying and backlash wouldn't do well with me. But that's not the issue here.
These authors are amazing I'm sure (some more than others #RobThier), BUT I, who would like to think of myself as an artful reader of fiction, am deeply concerned by the continuous recycling of the same old same old on Wattpad.
In fact, I'm beginning to see this as a serious problem. Ok maybe not as a serious serious problem, but serious enough for it to be considered a problem.
I'll admit, quite embarrassingly, I used to be a writer like this once. I was regurgitating what it is that I saw around Wattpad at the time. This was on my older account a good year and a half ago when I first joined (this mystery account name shall remain forever anonymous to save my dignity). And I'm sure some authors are doing the exact same thing I used to do: seeing the popular books scoped our perception of a book that will thrive on the market, and we copied, clipped, snipped, altered and spat out the same thing.
