So... Let's assume that you have 30,000 Dosh. You have now become a Cook, and you need to buy ingredients.
So you go out to every town buying this and that at Port Puerto and some things in Al Maajik, and then go back to Castele.
Uh oh! You spent so much on buying ingredients, that you only have 3,000 Dosh left!
Now, if you're like me then you might've gone online and looked up good ways to make Dosh, because this particular problem is something I've faced. Even after you sell all that food, it still doesn't give you any profit since you have to buy more ingredients! So why do people say that making things and selling them makes lots of Dosh?!
Well, I stopped being a cook for the time being because I can't obtain Monster Meat (I'm Level 30, not ready for the DLC) and I went to Tailor. As a Tailor, I sold eveything I made and somehow managed to get through with things.
As I went along making things like the Elemental Robes and some Skirts made me lots of profit making me get over 100,000 Dosh, and that's only from completing missions (had to quit because I can't get Shadow and Light Mana).
So keep working and it'll start to profit at somepoint.
