After you knocked that tree down at training earlier, you immediately went home. You felt annoyed, and somewhat petty about the whole situation.

You didn't realize he followed you, but Jasper was right on your tail the entire walk home. He was quiet enough for your loud thoughts to make him seem almost invisible.

You leaped onto the balcony that led directly into your room, and, needless to say, Jasper followed.

It was only when you held the handle of your balcony door that his presence became aware. Two strong arms wrapped around you, holding your body close to their own.

"(Y/N)..." You instantly recognized the vampire's voice. A rush of emotions flooded your body and mind. First, comfort. Then, anger. And lastly, sorrow.

"Go away," You spoke absentmindedly. You weren't in the mood to hear useless apologies, or better yet, an explanation. Frankly, those talks more than upset your stomach, and somewhat grossed you out.

You slid your door open and forced Jasper's grasp off of you.

Within seconds, Jasper was in front of you. He delicately grabbed your hand, holding it in his own. Your crimson eyes traveled up his body to connect to his golden ones.

"I want to tell you a story." He said calmly.

Jasper wasted no time in lighting the fireplace, and pulling you to the couch in your room. He sat down first, pulling you to him afterwards.

Occasionally as he spoke he would run his fingers through your (H/C) locks.

That's when he finally told you about her. Her name was Maria. She was, in his words, smart and careful, but to you she was nothing more than a monster. A monster that was strikingly similar to Victoria.

She too was creating an army. Jasper was her second in command, parallel to Riley. Both thought it was love, but were only puppets.

Jasper told you about the traumas he had to endure, the pain of killing someone he felt all the emotions of. Maria never let her Newborns live for more than a year.

That was when he met Alice. To Jasper, she's his savior. He doesn't know what would have happened without her. Which is why he won't leave her. He fears without her, he won't be the same. Alice may be Jasper's savior, but Jasper was your knight in sparkling skin.

"I got these," Jasper pulled his sleeves up to reveal bite marks flooding his skin, "around that time."

"They're-"

"Battle scars." He interrupted. You could tell by the look in his eyes that it was hard to show you, he was embarrassed.

"I think they're beautiful."

Jasper's eyes immediately met with yours in an utmost shocked sort of way. He was searching your emotions for any sign of lying.

"I think your flaws are beautiful." You repeated, watching his reaction, hoping to give him a reassurance.

It seemed to work as a huge grin slowly made a claim on Jasper's face. Within milliseconds, he pulled you into him, squeezing you with such a force afterwards, that you momentarily lost every ounce of oxygen that was previously filling your lungs.

"I think you're beautiful." He whispered into your hair.

You didn't realize the grin on your face until Jasper released his grip on you, and inched back to leave space between the two of you. You sat there, straddling his legs, as you attempted to read whatever emotion it was that was present on Jasper's face.
