~chapter 23~

Lexi's P.O.V

The next day I'm walking around the dorm trying to get everything ready to go back to classes Asher has been acting weird ever since the kiss he's avoiding me unless he has to help me or something happens and he has to be there Dani has been here alot we talk alot more ever since the accident Ashton stops by to see me every now and then too.

Even though these two come and see me alot I can't help but feel sad and kind of lonely you miss him I sigh and don't even notice when he walks in the room "it's true" I mumble to myself "what's true?" I snap my head in his direction with wide eyes "you scared me asshole!" A small smile forms on my lips when he grins "sorry Lex so what's true?" I shake my head and look away from him to continue putting some things into my bag "it's nothing" I could hear him walking towards me sadness in your voice smooth move dumb ass I roll my eyes at myself.

I look up when he stops beside me the grin he once had is gone and seriousness replaces it "we need to talk" I keep my face blank but my heart rate starts to pick up "Okay, about what?" He motions for me to sit on the couch I obey and watch as he sits beside me "about the kiss in the elevator" I only nod and feel my anxiety start to rise "so uh the whole kiss thing can we just forget that happened? It was kind of an in the moment thing" I could feel my heart shatter and a pain filled it's place I know a look of sadness and pain appeared on my face because a frown appeared on his "sorry my wounds acting up" I lie he hesitates a moment then nods "if you want to forget about it then fine it never happened" I mumble plastering a fake smile on my face and stand up walking back over to my bag and zipping it up "Lexi..." I keep my eyes down and take my bag over to my area in the room "Alexis" I look up at the wall "forget it Asher it never happened" I could hear him sigh and get up his footsteps echo around the quiet room.

I close my eyes and take in a deep breath he stops when he reaches the door "I'll see you later Alexis" then he walked out without another word I look at the door where he last stood then down at the floor and sit on the bed I run my hands over my face and hear a knock on the door "hey Lex you in there?" I look up at the sound of Dani's voice "yeah" I call the door opens and in walks my cousin "hey what're you doing in here its our last day before classes start up again" she comes towards me and sits beside me I say nothing and keep my eyes down "Lexi?" She cups my cheeks and forces me to look at her she frowns "what's wrong? What happened?" I swat her hands away and stand up walking away from her "Asher" I mumble she frowns more and stands up "what about him? He still avoiding you?" I shake my head and walk over to the window "he just broke me" I mumble my voice small "what the hell are you talking about I'm so confused!" I glance at her "he ask me if we could forget the kiss ever happened and basically said it meant nothing" her face softens and she pulls me into a hug "Oh Lex I'm so sorry" she says softly I push her away and look back out the window a certain dark haired boy grabs my attention I watch as a pretty blonde girl walks up to him and starts talking I can't see what Asher's doing but next thing I know their lips are smashed together.

I feel my heart drop and I break down Dani looks out the window and her face instantly twists in anger "that stupid son of a-" she starts mumbling the rest to herself and stomps out of the room I can't tear my eyes away from him then to my surprise they're pulled apart by my cousin she starts yelling at Asher and doing exaggerated hand movements the blonde says something and she turns around and says something back the blonde looks taken aback and anger replaces her shock Asher gets pushed back and people start to circle around them my eyes widen and I go as fast as I can down to them when I get down there I push through the crowd and by the time I get to them they're in each others faces Asher looks at my tear stained face and frowns but I pay him no mind I get between them "Dani back off and just forget about it" the blonde slaps my hand off of her and everyone ohs I look at her and narrow my eyes slightly "don't go there" I look away from her and back at Dani "just go back upstairs please" she huffs and crosses her arms the blonde taps my shoulder and I turn around to meet her glare "why don't you go back upstairs and get out of my way" I furrow my eyebrows in confusion "what?" An evil smirk spreads acrossed her face "don't pretend like you don't know after all you are sleeping with him" she must have noticed the confusion on my face because she rolls her eyes and continues "Asher, I want him and you're getting in my way I almost had him then guess what you showed up to break up my fight so just back off kay?" I narrow my eyes "Okay I don't know who pissed in your Wheaties but you've got the wrong girl I haven't slept with anyone here and especially not Asher" she laughs and moves closer to me "then where were you two this whole time no one saw you guys over break so where did you go? His house? Your house?" I open my mouth to say something but close it again "that's what I thought."

I frown "it's not like that we weren't-" she pushes me backwards into Dani "shut up" she growls Dani barely manages to keep us both up tears form in my eyes and run down my cheek when I feel something tear and know immediately what it is I look down as blood begins to soak my shirt Dani's eyes widen and everyone erupts into whispers Asher walks over to see what's wrong and his eyes widen he looks at the blonde and is about to say something but she turns and runs off chased away by everyone's glares and shocked expressions he turns back to us "Lexi are you-" Dani cuts him off and steps away from me walking towards him I stand there and press my hands to my wound to stop the blood "Oh hell no you don't get to worry about her this is all your fault" she pushes him backwards and starts poking his chest his face shows confusion "what the hell are you talking about?!?" She slaps him causing everyone to wince he stands there with wide eyes "she likes you dumb ass! that kiss meant something to her you mean something to her but you told her that kiss meant nothing to you and you've been avoiding her for days if you don't care don't act like it!" Everyone goes silent and I can feel everyone's eyes on me i look down at my wound and say nothing Dani turns away from a speechless Asher and helps me to the nurse to see what she could do.
