On The Non-Accepting

As converts, it's not uncommon to lose friends and sometimes be shunned by family members after publically making your faith in Allah known. This can be incredibly hard to deal with, especially if you and these people were very close, and feeling hurt is completely normal, but, ultimately, God knows best.

One day they may come around, and in that case, forgive them and embrace them, but if it's not looking that way, pray for the ability to move on and forgive. Pray that the wound they caused lifts you up in Jannah above your bad deeds. And pray that God forgives them, and that he helps you to forgive them too.

Harboring pain or resenting the deen isn't healthy. You have to try to let that go so God can come in and teach you how to heal. Take care of yourself. Love your brothers and sisters. This is a strong ummah. We'll take care of each other. Allahu akbar.
