"Haley!" Luke yelled as I was walking into school
"Luke!" I laughed, hugging him
"Long time no see, how was your summer?" He asked, it was the first day back from summer break and I had been away from my friends all summer long.
"Good, the beach was nice, I missed you guys though."
"Did ya miss Ashton?"
"Oh god no."
"Why do you hate him anyways?" He asked
"He's an asshole to me!"
"You're an asshole right back!"
"Can we not talk about this?" I sighed
"Fine," He laughed, "Hey there's Calum and Michael."
"Cal! Mikey!" I yelled
"Haley! Hey!" Calum yelled
"Haley!" Michael yelled, hugging me
"Hey guys! How was your alls summers?"
"Pretty good, band practice, nothing other than that really." Michael said
"Band? Oh yeah I forgot." I rolled my eyes
"Don't roll your eyes every time the band is mentioned just because Ashton's in it." Calum laughed
"Hey guys!" Ashton yelled from behind us
"Bye!" I yelled, starting to walk away
"Nope!" Luke said, grabbing the handle of my backpack, pulling me back towards them.
"Hey Haley," Ashton said
"Hi." I said, not sounding very interested
"You can't even pretend to be interested?" He asked
"Not when you're talking," I snapped
God, he's annoying.
"Damn," He said under his breath

*Ashtons POV*
"Hey guys!" I yelled as I approached my friends
"Bye!" I heard Haley yell as she started to walk away. Just hearing her voice made my whole day. I had missed her all summer long.
"Nope!" Luke said and I saw him grab the handle of her backpack so he could pull bee back towards them.
"Hey Haley," I said, trying to force myself to not smile as hard as I could
"Hi." She said, she didn't sound interested at all, which hurt.
"You can't even pretend to be interested?" I asked
"Not when you're talking,"
She really doesn't like me but this year I'm determined to somehow make her like me
"Damn," I said under my breath but I kept walking next to her, I think this years gonna be a good year.
