15. The forest 🌲

No background music or any sound.

I'm in a school yard... My primary school yard. All my old friends are here.

Princess, Brenton, Mpho, Kutlwano, Lola, Luna, Michael, Ryan, Bradley, Suzie, Jada, Lareece, Reece, Ashlyn, Ashton, Sbongile, Mulanga, Thato, Lindsey, Kelly, Valerie, MiKayla and Riley.

We're not young, we're all grown up. It's like a reunion or something. All the old teachers are here even the old principle. Mr. Chubby Verge.

My friends and I decide to tour the school. There was always this forbidden part of the school.

The forest.

They always told us that we would suffer a terrible death if we went to the forest. But it seemed too fictional to be true.

Researching about the school, in the school library and tales from Mrs. Flowers, we found out that a girl had died there. We found out that the school was once a mine and terrible things had happened in this place.

It was surprising to find out that even after all these years , the forest was still forbidden because they fear another student would lose his/her life.

We were older now and it was a reunion. It made sense for us to tour the school and go places that we were forbidden to go to, while we schooled here.

We walked towards the forest. It was dark outside.

You could see the mist from a far. And the crows flying over the tall trees of the the forest. Us... a group of twenty four friends walked closer and closer to the forest.

"Guys. .. let's turn back this isn't safe." Luna and Lola say. "Yeah. I don't feel too good about this . Let's turn back." Ryan says nervously.

"You guys are chickens." Jada chuckles. "I agree with Luna and Lola. They forbid this place for a reason." Ashton says.

"But years ago." Lareece says. "Technically, it's still forbidden." Suzie says in a "As a matter of fact" tone.

Everyone stops walking and looks her direction. Then we all look away. Then walk closer and closer to the forest.

*Dramatic movie slow motion horror moment.*

"Wait guys... wait!" Princess stops us. "What now?!" We all partly shout and ask in unison.

We look at her. She smiles. "Is my make up okay?" She asks. "Really? !" All the guys say. Angrily.

Some sick stuff.

All of the girls join in. Oohs and ahhs is all you could hear and I just stand there. But then I sense footsteps behind me. I turn around to look who might be walking behind me but all I see is a tall light skinned man.
