A/N: this is a kinda soulmate au where Tyler is a singer and has a hard time getting lyric ideas and Josh thinks of good lyrics when doing really anything and Tyler gets the ideas from Josh' head. Also, if this gets enough reads, I'll try writing an actual joshler story.
-------------------
Tyler-
"I don't wanna fall, fall away", Tyler thought. He really didn't know where these lyric or song ideas came from, but he's thankful they appeared. Tyler really needed some more ideas for his songs or people would start getting bored with the same ol' stuff he always sang, and he can't just make them laugh with "Taco Bell Saga". It worked for a while but then everyone kinda just got tired of it. He'd been losing a lot of inspiration lately. You'd think a guy with nothing but his mind would have some good ideas but that's where you're wrong. Tyler's brain has just been...dead, except for when these random ideas just pop in. He really wished where they came from.
"I'll keep the lights on in this place, cause I don't wanna fall, fall away". He wrote down the words before it was too late. "I guess I'll call it Fall Away", he mumbled to himself, tapping his pen on his paper. "Is any of this even worth it?" Tyler thought.
When he invested his savings into equipment for his singing career, he thought he'd enjoy it, but eh, lately it has really sucked. No inspiration, not many fans, and just not that much fan. Hell, he hasn't even made that many friends or anything. He was getting kinda..lonely.
"I disguise, and I will lie, and I will take my precious time. As the days melt away, and I stand in line". These are pretty good. He wrote the lyrics down but then he got a call. He grabbed his phone and answered it.
"Hello?" "Hey there, Tyler, I've found you a gig. Tomorrow at this club called the Blurry Face. Sounds kinda sketch but I mean. You aren't exactly doing that well anyways", his manager, Roger said. Tyler sighed. "Alright", Tyler said, sighing. "Ok, I'll text you the details later. Don't let us down", Roger said, hanging up. "Great. Now I have to write this song and practice it before tomorrow", he thought.
"As I die, as I wait, as I wait, on my crime, and I'll try to delay what you think of my life". Tyler decided that maybe these lyrics would show up more if he went to somewhere like the park, so he grabbed a hoodie and put his shoes on and left the house.
------------
"But I don't want your way, I want mine. I'm dying, and I'm trying, but believe me, I'm fine. But I'm lying, I'm so very far from fine". Tyler opened up his notebook he used to write songs in, as he sat on the nearest bench. He grabbed his pen from his pocket and started writing.
He looked off into the distance and saw a man with brightly colored hair in the distance. He looked a bit down, so Tyler got up and started walking towards him.
"And I, I can feel the pull begin. Feel the conscience wearing thin, and my skin, it will start to break up and fall apart". Tyler sat down by the guy, and looked at him. "Hey man, are you ok? You seem a bit down," Tyler asked. "Eh, it's just one of those times. I've got not much happening in life and I just am looking for.. I don't know, just something. I don't know what it is though", he answered. "What kind of things?" Tyler asked. "Anything to take me out of this slump of depression... Wait that just got deep. Sorry", the man said, seeming a bit apologetic.
"Nah, its ok. We all get like that sometimes. Hey, I have an idea. If you want, you could come to my concert tomorrow. I mean it's a small thing but hey, if you were looking for something to do, and maybe it could help you?" Tyler suggested. "Oh, sure. Where at?" He asked. Tyler ripped off a piece of paper and wrote the info down, and also put his number on it. "Here. If you wanna hang out or something or have any questions, here's my number". "Thanks, I'm Josh by the way". "Tyler".

Josh-
Josh decided to go to Tyler's concert, because really, what else has he to do? Besides, Tyler seemed nice so why not? "I don't even know what kind of music he makes", Josh thought. Going to Tyler's concert is probably the most risky thing he's done in a while and that really says something about him.
Josh started walking towards the club and he saw the sign. "It's kinda small," he thought. He walked in, and saw that Tyler was turned around plugging in some microphones and other cords. Josh analyzed to see how much people were in the room and he guessed about fifty. "We all start somewhere", he thought. Josh found a spot close to the stage, and his legs kinda hurt, so he sat down.
"Hi, everyone. I'm Tyler Joseph and I'm gonna start tonight with my most recent song, "Fall Away". I hope you like it". Josh raised an eyebrow. "Didn't I think about a song called that?" Josh thought. "I don't wanna fall, fall away". "I swear I've heard this somewhere but I haven't heard Tyler's songs before".
"I'll keep the lights on in this place, cause I don't wanna fall, fall away". "This is weird. I thought about this the other day", Josh mumbled. "I disguise and I will lie". "Did I make up this song?" Josh asked himself. The song went on and Josh got more and more curious about these lyrics, as they seemed more and more familiar. It continued with Tyler's other songs too. "How can this be happening?" Josh thought.
He kept listening to the music until he heard Tyler say, "I hope you've had fun. Merch is in the back and have a good night". Josh quickly pulled out his phone and started texting Tyler. "Hey, that was really cool. Can we talk a bit?". Surprisingly, he got a response just a few seconds later. "Sure. Come to the back".
Josh walked to behind the curtains and saw Tyler. "Hey, thanks for coming", Tyler said, smiling. "His smile is cute" Josh thought. "Yeah, you're really good. I had some questions though, about the lyrics. Where'd you get the ideas?" Josh asked. Tyler scratched his neck. "I really don't know. Honestly I haven't been getting any creative ideas lately but then these lyrics just kinda appeared. It sounds kinda weird, I know", Tyler answered.
"Are you serious? This also might sound weird but I've been thinking these lyrics for a while and I swear I've never heard your songs before", Josh said. "Wait a second. Does this mean, we're..." "Soulmates?" They both said at the same time. "I guess we have some talking to do. Lets go get some dinner or something.
