Siya's Pov
The doorbell rang, and I turned around to open it. Our food must be here.
On opening the door, I was greeted by a beautiful woman on the other side. She was wearing a short black dress that reached her thighs, black heels, and a bag in her hand. She had a flirty look on her face before I opened the door.
I looked at the woman and realized she must've expected Kanishk to open the door, and that explains why she had a flirty look on her face.
"Yes?"
"Hi! I'm Devika. Kanishk sir's assistant, personal assistant." She said with a smirk on her face and suddenly I hated her. I didn't like the way she called out my husband's name or her intentions.
I heard footsteps coming toward me and I knew Kanishk must be coming here. "Is the food already here?" I hear him ask.
I turned around and looked at him, he looked a little stressed. I moved away from the door and his eyes went toward his personal assistant and his eyes went wide.
"Devika? What are you doing here?" His arms folded, his eyes narrowed he waited for the answer.
"Sir, I was a little bit stuck in my presentation, if you could help me out a little." She said and came inside our apartment, giving me a side-away glance.
She walked towards him and smiled. Kanishk narrowed his eyes at her. "What presentation?" He ask in his formal tone and Devika immediately fumbled with the bag trying to remove her laptop.
"About our recent client sir, here it is." She said and tried to open the laptop but she couldn't with her both hands engaged. One holding the bag and the other holding the laptop.
Kanishk gave her an irritated look and took the bag from her hand and kept it aside. "Show me." He demanded and Devika went stiff.
"Yes sir." And she opened the laptop and waited for it to open. My eyes went towards Kanishk and as if he sensed I was seeing him he looked at me. His irritated expression softened looking at me and he was about to open his mouth to say something when I turned around and closed the door and walked towards the kitchen. But before I walked away, I saw his hurt face as I ignored him.
"Here sir, this part where we sell the products-" Devika started and I stopped listening to them and walked towards the living room where Kanishk still haven't let Devika sit down and was listening to her presentation standing.
I had an urge to smile but I stopped. Devika was clearly uncomfortable standing in her heels, with a laptop in her hand and trying to explain things at one time, Kanishk on the other hand had gone back to his business mode and was listening to her query.
"This is what you had come here for? Seriously?" Kanishk's sudden loud voice boomed in the room and I looked up to see him shouting at her.
"But sir I really had the problem and wanted to-"
"You could've called me, I told you I will receive the call as long as it is business related! You freaking had a problem with the printing of our documents? Just because the printer at your house didn't work, you come here to do it? We do have an office for that, you know it right?"
I stared at Kanishk shocked. I agree I hated the girl but now I was really feeling bad for her. But anyway why do I cares? As far as I'm not the person being yelled at, I'm good.
After his yelling was over I looked up to see Devika glaring daggers at me as Kanishk checked the documents. I had the urge to go and smack her head.
Again the bell rang and this time before I can stand up, Kanishk walked towards the door. Our food was here. Kanishk paid for the food and closed the door.
He looked at me as he walked toward the kitchen. I stared back, but I made sure not to show on my face how I was feeling.
He walked out and went towards Devika. She looked a little bit calmed after being yelled at by my husband. She was clearly waiting for Kanishk to ask her in joining us for dinner. She had kept the laptop back in her bag and was now only a little away from walking towards the dining hall.
"If you're done with your problems, you can leave." Kanishk speaks and walks towards the door, yanking it open.
Devika's face was worth watching after he did that. Her mouth kept opening and closing, a word wouldn't come out of her mouth. She looked at me and I roll my eyes, and just for the effect, I smiled at her.
Her eyes went wide and anger formed on her face but I saw her struggling not to say anything. Her boss was here and if she spoke anything she knows it will go against her. So she was just quiet and glaring at me.
"Do I need to call a carriage for you to go or something?" Kanishk's voice broke me from my staring at Devika and I looked at him. He looked irritated as he waited there.
Devika suddenly nodded her head and Kanishk raised his eyebrows when suddenly Devika shook her head when she realized what question he has asked. "No sir no, I will go. Goodbye, sir." She spoke and at once ran out of our apartment.
Kanishk turned backtowards me and I went back to ignoring him. I decided to go through all thedocuments Vihaan had sent.
"Let's have dinner." Kanishk spoke and I nodded my head without looking up.
I waited to see what he would do. He waited there and didn't move. When some minutes passed I finally looked up to see what he was doing.
When I looked up, I was monetarily stunned. He was busy staring at me, his hands behind his back as he kept assessing me with a look I couldn't decipher. His eyes stared at me with a look of amusement.
I finally stood up closing my laptop and that broke whatever stance he was within. He stood straight and looked embarrassed for staring at me. I ignored it and walked toward the kitchen to arrange plates for us.
"I'll help you." I hear him say as he took out glasses and spoons and forks. He even decided to open the parcel and serve it on the plate.
I filled our glasses with water and sat down as he took a seat opposite me. He forwarded his plate towards me and I saw it was pasta with some meat on the side and some pizza slices.
No! Junk food?!
