Siya's Pov
I look up towards him to see him already staring at me worriedly. "You like pizza and pasta right?" He asks unsure.
I nodded my head but he still looked unsure as he stared at me. I took my pizza and took a bite. I was hungry so anything will do for now.
If he orders food all the time then it would be a disaster. I love this food but I can't eat it all the time. I checked his refrigerator in the morning and did not see any vegetables or food. The fridge only had some energy drinks, some jam and bread, peanut butter, and some leftover food which was again a take-out.
If I'm gonna be leaving here, I should seriously start cooking for us both.
We had dinner in silence, when he was done, he washed his plate and walked inside the room. When I was done, I decided to go on a stroll downstairs only to look over how the neighborhood looked.
I walked toward my room and took out my jacket. As it was a little chilly outside I decided to wear it. Kanishk was looking at me.
"Where are you going this late?" He asked and stood up, taking the car keys from the bedside table in case of some emergency.
"I was just going on a walk, I will be back soon."
"Wait. Don't go alone. I will come-"
"No, don't! I want some alone time, I need some space." I say and he looked a bit hurt at my answer but nonetheless, he nodded his head and I walked out.
I saw him picking up his own jacket and following me. "I said I wanted to go alone."
Kanishk narrowed his eyes at me. "Then go, who is stopping you?"
"You! Why are you coming?"
"Who said I'm following you, I want to go on a walk too." He said and walked out.
I gritted my teeth and glared at his back as I walk behind him.
Once we reached downstairs he let me walk ahead and I registered him following me. Wherever I went, he would follow keeping a ten feet distance between us. Whenever I would look back he would pretend to be busy on his phone but I can sense his eyes on me.
And just like that my angry mood was replaced by contentment.
"Going out somewhere?" I heard Kanishk ask as I wore my brown boots and took my purse on the way to exit.
"Yes, office," I answered, turning towards him.
"So you finally decided to join the office after all? I thought I would've to convince you to and you would only join if we are back from our supposed honeymoon." He says with sarcasm evident in his voice as he enters the kitchen.
It hurt to know he feels that way about me talking about our honeymoon my parents planned, but I didn't say anything. I don't want to start the day with a fight.
He waited for my answer and peeked his head from the door to see what happened. "I'll be back by six," I say and walk out in time to see his face turning into confusion at my words and my ignorance at his words.
I drove to my office in fifteen minutes and was greeted by my staff with congratulations and happy ever after cards. It was so beautiful, only if I had the person beside me to see all this.
"Hey there Mrs. Kapoor," Vihaan walked into my cabin with a smile and a bouquet of flowers. "Flowers from D.Y.C Corporations for your wedding, and they would like to have a meeting with us this week," Vihaan said in one breath and sat down on the chair before me.
"Woah calm down," I laughed and took the bouquet to keep it on the stand beside me. "These are really beautiful," I mutter admiring the flowers and walking back to the chair.
"So? What's up?" Vihaan asks like a desperate best friend asking for details. I roll my eyes and smile.
"Nothing's up," I say and open the file which was pending for me to open since last week of my absence.
"Oh come on! Why such a sad face?" He asks.
"I don't have a sad face!" I say defending myself and wondering if my face is showing any signs of aging.
"Whatever." He sighs and stands up. "Here, as you said we have a meeting scheduled in an hour, Volta Corporation's CEO will be here soon." He informed me to show the presentation and the rest of the hour went by like that.
"You ready?" Vihaan asks and I nod with a smile as we walked towards the conference hall. Just as I walked inside I was frozen in the place looking at the person occupying the place of the CEO we will be having our meeting with.
Dev Sinha, my schoolmate, my childhood friend, and my... ex-boyfriend.
He had his eyes pinned on the papers in front of him as he went through the detailed version of the presentation. His secretary saw us coming and she stood up. "Sir, Miss Diwan is here," she muttered and Dev stood up to greet me, and just like me, he was frozen on the spot watching me. He clearly wasn't expecting me!
"You!" He mutters with distaste evident in his voice. "Why are you here?" He then looked me up and down as realization hit him. "You...you're the CEO?" He asks unbelievably.
I was irritated at his stupid realization and more so his voice. I stopped myself from rolling my eyes because that would be unprofessional. "Yes Mr. Sinha, I'm the CEO."
