10 : The Sister

Siya's Pov

I kept feeling his glances toward me throughout our ride. Once we reached the party, I did not wait for him and walked out of the car as he called for me from behind to stop.

Once I was at the door I stopped and waited for him as he walked toward me with a frown.

"Are you mad? You would've fall-"

"Okay now, stop it. It was just one time. I won't fall down. Chill." I say and intertwined my hand in his arms as he looked at me startled.

"What do you think you are doing?" He asks raising his brows.

"Entering the party like a perfect couple," I say giving him my best smile which made him look at me as if I'm an alien who came to ask for his blood.

"You're weird." He says and shakes his head as I see a hint of a smile on his lips but he soon recovers and we enter the party.

My friends from the business world were there, my client's wives who are very good at unnecessary gossip were busy gossiping, overall the party was on.

"Your ex did organize a good party." Kanishk mutters from beside me looking at the decoration.

"Don't talk about him," I tell him and gave him my meanest glare.

"Why so? Does he affect you?"

"No!"

"Really?" He asks again, he clearly had something in his mind.

"Yes, he is past. A horrible one." I say shrugging.

"I don't think so, I think he still affects you." He whispers slowly.

"He doesn't. What's going to make you believe me?" I ask irritated.

"If he doesn't affect you, then kiss me. Right now."

"Of course, I'll kiss you right- Wait! What!" I ask stopping mid-sentence as I realized his words.

"You heard me." He states and keeps looking around us.

"But that's not what I meant I-"

"So he does affect you!" He says before I can finish my sentence.

"God! No, he doesn't." I said gritting my teeth and leaning towards his face as he nods at one of his clients and looks down at me next.

"Prove it then." He whispers as his hot breath falls on my cheeks making a shiver run down my body.

"Gladly," I whisper under my breath and holding his arms tightly and raising myself a little bit so I can reach his level, he was looking behind me towards god knows what when I suddenly planted my lips on his cheeks making his eyes go wide and look down at me.

"You really did-"

"I told you, Mr. Kapoor, he doesn't affect me anymore," I say and lean a little closer to him. "Want me to prove you more?" I ask, turning my voice a little seductive making him raise his brows at my sudden change of voice.

"N-No." His voice came out cracked and I stopped myself from smiling at the accomplishment that I made him speechless for a moment and felt smug that he thought I won't kiss him, but I did.

We stood staring at each other for what felt like an eternity when in reality it was just some minutes when we heard a voice calling us.

"And look at these love birds." A voice teased and I look ahead to see a familiar man I saw at our wedding. I think his name was Rishi. Standing beside him was a beautiful woman, his wife Ananya.

"I thought you were gonna ditch me." Kanishk says and puts his arms around my shoulder as he takes a drink from the server and passes me.

"Never in a million years, you know I love you," Rishi says giving Kanishk a wink.

"Dude, shut up." Kanishk says smiling, shaking his head. "Hello Ananya, how are you." He says and gives her a head nod.

"I'm good Kanishk, thank you." She smiles at him and looks at me. "Come on, join me for a drink." She says and looks at the boys. "We don't want to disturb these love birds." She says pointing at the boys.

My eyes went wide and looked at Kanishk with a teasing smile. "I didn't know you swing that way Kanishk," I say shaking my head, looking disappointed.

Kanishk looked horrified at my sentence. "It's nothing like that she's-"

"Don't worry, I can understand. I won't disturb you guys anymore. Enjoy you two." I say giving Kanishk and Rishi a polite smile, trying hard not to laugh in front of them.

"Siya she's jok-"

I didn't hear the rest of the sentence Kanishk said because I and Ananya walked out on them and burst out laughing once we were far away from the boys.

"You should've seen Rishi, he was looking dead when you said that," Ananya say and laughed. "I already like you girl, at least I got a partner to tease them both." She says giving me a wink and I chuckle.

I finish the drink in my hand and order a new one as Anna does the same. "Why do you tease them anyway?" I ask her and she gives me a mischievous smile.

"It's a funny story actually," she says and laughs. "Two years back, when Rishi was going to propose to me, he was practicing the words he will say to me on Kanishk and I entered at the same time Rishi was handing over the rose to Kanishk and you can imagine what happened next." She says and again laughs, this time I join her.

"And did Kanishk accept the flower?" I ask and she nods her head.

"Yeah, he was like, 'Yes, Rishi I would like to marry you. God! I can't forget the day, they both looked so horrified looking at me and were continuously trying to convince me it wasn't true what I saw." She says and shakes her head. "I'll tell you, I even faked crying, just to tease Rishi." She says with a wink.

"You're too much," I state smiling.

"So where are you two going on honeymoon?" She asks sipping her drink.

"We're not going anywhere right now," I say shaking my head and looking down at the glass. "Office work you see." I lied.

"Seriously? I knew that asshole will even work overtime after his marriage. I tell you, I and Rishi told him to hold his work down a bit but that man won't listen." Ananya says shaking her head disappointed.

"You told Kanishk to work less?" I say and laugh. "It's like asking carnivorous animals to stop eating meat," I say and she laughs.

"That I can see, but don't you worry. Give yourselves a little bit of time, he will come in line." She advises and I open my mouth to say something when I see the person I wasn't ready to see.

And she was walking towards Kanishk.
