I bury my head into my hands,
huddle into my body into a ball.
KEEP IT TOGETHER.

Your hands have long left,
only a cold spot where your body was,
where it used to be.
The imprint on the sheets,
the faint smell of musk.
WARMTH, WHERE ARE YOU?
I am
COLD

WARMTH, WHERE ARE YOU?
It is an empty silence,
the room is bleak and
too cold.
WARMTH, WHERE ARE YOU?
I am begging for your hold.
I need to feel you again.
It is cold cold cold
without you.
Or is it?
(I was too busy
hugging myself
to realize that
your hands
weren't warming me up.
They were freezing me to death.)
I have sworn to never
touch anyone's heart again.
The cold is too much to bear.
I don't think
anyone can ever
light the fire in me
again.
