This movie got me feeling like the biggest pretentious asshole because I was almost 100% of the time on the verge of not finishing it because the female main character (Nam) and her friends weren't portrayed very appealingly and continuously made me cringe.

Although, I understand movies like this are very very common nowadays; your typical teenage-coming-of-age-awkward-relatable piece of work, I feel that this one holds a more solid recognition of that situation. The actors and actresses really displayed their characters, clearly, did a great job. Some films don't do the 'coming of age' genre justice like CLTCL did. When you're young, you don't just confess, well most of us who haven't grown balls don't. It's entire process that you over think for a looonngg time, it could takes weeks, months, even years. That is the truth. /POSSIBLY SPOILERS BUT SUPER MINOR AND ITS NECESSARY TO PROPERLY EXPLAIN/ So I understand Nam's school girl crush vibe, even though she could've made a lot better choices, she actually took years to confess. But when I found out about Shone's whole situation? I was like, fuck. And I was already more than half way through the movie. /SPOLIERS END/
Nam, as an individual, had one of the greatest developments I'd ever seen from a character. Honestly, and also one of the more realistic because it wasn't a one time makeover POOF BAM fairy god mother transformation. I might even believe she went through puberty, good job make up team. She still had a sort of a low-key naive exterior for the most part, but I got over it. I really liked her and her grades's GLO UP, I greatly appreciated it.

Shone threw me off for a solid chuck of the movie, but not in a mixed feelings way. Like, I so couldn't tell his true feelings until the movie put it in front of me. He was respectful, but I just needed him to be abut one girl; however, he was giving girls rides home left and right, hanging out with other gals. I understand he didn't want to express his true feelings, but damn. Stop playing boi, stop playing.

I could see how Nam's GLO UP could be misread and people could say Shone made her change her true self, but I don't see it that way. Nam's inspiration to be her best self was Shone and her dad, in my opinion. She looked good and had the good grades to match. Nam was destined for greatness, Shone just helped the process 'speed' up; although, I do wish it was faster.

The teachers were fucking weird and almost unnecessary. She was kind of gross honestly, I didn't think she was as funny as other viewers said she was.
Nam's group of friends were true homies, but to be an asshole for a moment, I wish they 'glo-ed up' better. Appearance-wise, Nam ended up being gorgeous and prettier than all of them. It's not that cool to be that much prettier than your friends. Help 'em out.
Top, a guy that was after Nam's heart -I can't call him second lead because he never had a chance, was cool. That girl that was always a bitch to Nam because she wanted Shone can rot in a ditch, but got Top anyways.
/SPOILERS/ I am so glad Nam went to America to study and found success whilst Shone pursued his dream of football/soccer AND photography. Nam became a fashion designer, like girl! They achieved goals on their own, but always had each other in the back of their mind as inspiration. BUT NINE YEARS????? OH MY GOD I WAS LIKE WTF, even though I accepted it fully, it was a big time shocker. I also can't believe Shone got with other girls because the option of Nam was off limits. Grow a pair boy, you got me tripping for a while. Even though I wanted Nam and Shone, he broke Top's bro code order of not hitting on Nam. Like he didn't really hit on her, but he gave a thick ass scrap book of her to her and didn't see her until nine years; however, we all know, they ended up together and made cute talented babies. /SPOILERS END/
