I can definitely appreciate a movie with an older time frame, and I did -1980's were wildin.' To begin with honesty, I didn't enjoy this movie almost the entire time... and to my disdain, I believe the two main characters felt wrongly casted. Now, now before you go virtually round kicking me, I really like these two actors in other roles they've played. I think Lee Jong Suk and Park Bo Young are two of the many greatest Korean actors of their time.

I'm not saying this movie didn't hit my nerves at all, that's not a fact because I definitely cried, but I usually cry when Park Bo Young is hurt or cries. WHAT AM I TRYING TO SAY IS that I did cry in some points, but this movie could've been portrayed better.
Young Sook can't be described as a 'strong minded' female lead in my eyes because being physically and verbally aggressive isn't all it takes. She was a gang leader who had a lot of room for character/emotional development and I think the movie could've dabbled a little more in that department. Nonetheless, I did really enjoy how determined she was, Young Sook definitely knew what she wanted at times, but her character felt lost as well. /SPOILER/ Truly, it was't the only possible option, but I think moving to Seoul was one of the better ideas she had. /SPOILER ENDS/
