Another uneventful week had passed at the bunker. Mark was still on hiatus, so the two of you had been spending a lot of time together. You were doing domestic things such as cooking together and eating in the dining room, watching TV, reading, and there was even a night where you slept in his bed with him.

Both you and Mark needed some security in your life right now. Each mundane day without disruption brought relief to both of you. It was a bit weird, albeit.

You and Mark were spooning on the couch, drifting off into sleep. His arm wrapped around your waist made you more than content to stay in your spot. You felt safe with Mark, which was something that Dark hadn't made you feel in a long time.

"Doctor Iplier is finished with his serum." Red's voice startled both of you, you felt Mark instinctively tighten his hold on you. "He has requested to see both of you in his lab."

"Okay." Mark said, reluctantly releasing you and sitting up. "You'll accompany us." Red nodded his head.

The three of you traveled in silence to The Doctor's lab, Mark lead the way. You were anxious to get Dark back, but you remembered The Doctor's warning. This was a dangerous mission, but you needed to help Dark. As much as you were unsure about him right now, you knew you couldn't leave him in that cell forever.

"Doctor?" Mark called out once everybody had entered the lab, "We're here."

"Ah, yes." He appeared from behind a shelf stacked high with papers and books. "Come with me, please."

You treaded carefully, afraid to step on something important. The haphazard state of the lab reminded you of the one in Warfstache's house. Papers were scattered across the floor, everything was hectic and it looked like a damn tornado had been in here. The Doctor definitely did work hard and you gave him credit where it was due.

"Here it is." He said, upon reaching a long, wide desk that appeared to be his main workstation. "There is no 100% guarantee that this will work, but the probability is high." He gestured towards a beaker that held clear liquid.

"When are we going to do this?" Mark asked, glancing to the beaker and back to The Doctor.

"Whenever you are ready." He said, shoving his hands in the pockets of his lab coat. "You do know of the risks, right?" He directed towards Mark, knowing you already heard his spiel.

"No." Mark titled his head in confusion, "Fill me in."

"Well, this right here," The Doctor gestured to the beaker again, "will return the Dark you know and love. The chemical will flush Dark's system of the magic I infused him with."

"While this process takes place, Dark will experience extreme emotions and loss of control. He may kill one of us." The Doctor said, "The serum, at the very basic level, is a reset for his body."

"A reset?" You asked, "Does that mean he'll lose all of his memories?" You felt tears threatening to form. The idea of Dark forgetting you was devastating.

"Only for the first few hours." The Doctor stated, "They will all return within a few days. The bond between the two of you will help them return sooner."

"Do be careful about the bond, (Y/N)." His expression held genuine concern. "Dark will use it against you as he will be able to sense it within minutes after he wakes up." You nodded in understanding. You knew that Dark, by nature, was a manipulator. You had seen it many times before.

"What precautions do we need to take?" Mark cut in, wanting to get through this as soon as possible.

"Lock up any weapons he can obtain and move him far away from our safe room." Doctor Iplier turned to Mark, "Once I inject him, we will have a period of approximately 50 minutes where he will be unconscious. In that 50 minutes, I suggest we find a good hiding place to lock ourselves in. The farther he is from us, the better."

"How long will we have to stay locked in?" You asked, wondering how all of the bathroom and food needs would come into play.

"The first two days." The Doctor answer you, "Like I told you, that is when he will be at his worst. Stay away from his room at all costs until the week is up. After the week, he should revert back to his old self and he will be free to go."

"What do you mean should?" Mark questioned skeptically.

"Like I said previously, there are no guarantees in medicine." The Doc said bluntly.

"What do we do if he does get out of his cell some how?" You wanted to be prepared for the worst, which would be essential if you want to survive this.

"Good question." The Doctor removed a gloved hand from his pocket and absent mindedly rubbed his chin. "Mark, is there a way to seal the bunker?" Mark nodded.

"It would be in our best interest to make a run for Mark's house and put this place in lock down." He looked back to you. "If, for some reason, we can't get out, we would have to find a way to lure him back to his cell. Hopefully, we won't have to resort to that plan."

"Yeah, hopefully." You agreed, "So when do we get this shit-show started?"

"Two days should be enough time to get everything ready." Mark said with a grim expression, "I'll come to you when I'm ready." He told The Doctor.

"Go then," He shooed you all from the lab. "We have no time to waste. Good luck, everyone."

The next two days were packed full of locking up every knife, gun, and even fork. You made sure not to forget the weapon room Dark had showed you before you went to Warfstache's house. You filled Creepiplier in on what was going on. He was ordered to stay by your side (which he had no problem with) and to stay out of the way.

You and Mark stocked up the bunker with food and determined that Wilford was still secured in his cell. Everything seemed to be in order as far as physical objects and rooms. You had all agreed that The Doctor's lab was the most secure and safest room in the bunker.

Mark managed to slip in some training with the bond to make sure you were ready for Dark. You knew Dark would push against you, but you had to be ready. Mark held off on the self defense practice, simply because there wasn't enough time.

"Are you ready?" Mark asked you while you stood in The Doctor's lab with everyone else.

"Not at all," You smiled at him, "Let's go."
