Dry Your Tears (From My Tagalog Poem "Tahan Na")

Dry your tears!

Can we blame the thoughts of this child?

When whenever alone was ruled by sadness;

That the deepness of his heart was totally infected by grief.

Dry your tears!

Seems fate toying him,

Daily whipped with heavy hands and filthy words

Of peers from school where he is suppose to gain knowledge.

Dry your tears!

His voice vanished;

The perception of this child was lost;

His taste of chocolates is not sweet anymore.

Dry your tears!

Your rowing in the river of anguish is done;

When you let the rope alone, hold thy neck.

Oh, innocent soul!

Dry your tears...

And come to the place where there is peace...
