I had to leave, but one thing holding me back was Zoie. She has her mate but I swore on my life I would protect her.
Zoie, Trent, Josh, Vincent, and Danny were all gathered at the Waterfall. They didn't know why they were gathered here but I was going to tell them.
"Umm....your wondering why you here and why my bags are packed aren't you." I said in a raspy toun. They all nodded and waited for me to continue altought zoie knew what was going on.
"I......I'm leaving because I can't stay, I'm leaving because....Tanner." I was on the verge of crying but I promised myself I wouldn't.
"Lyla you can't, Tanner had a reason to reject you. He was protecting you." Zoie said trying to get me to stay.
"Why was he protecting me, what from?" I asked because she obviously knew something I didn't.
"He was protecting you from his past, he was protecting you from the revenge that was on him. He wasn't thinking about the fact that you were in more danger away from him than with him." zoie said panicking about the fact I was gonna leave.
I looked at Zoie strangely "when did you find this out" I asked.
"After you started the heat and I went to get him" She said with hope in her eyes.
All along Tanner my mate was trying to protect me from his past, but after even thought he knew I was the black alpha female, he still called me the horide things. 'Whore' 'ugly' 'not fit for luna'. He still rejected me knowing I'm stronger than anything, stronger than him.
My wolf whimpered at the back of my mind, I cared about my wolf. No way in hell am I letting Tanner hurt us again.
"I still have to leave, but i dnt want to. Tanner knew when i shifted and saw that i was the black alpha female that i could protect myself,but he still hurt us. I cant let that happen again. If it did i dont know what would happen or what i might do. I might even turn evil not even willingly." I said.
"Its ok Lyla, Trent can protect me and i will be fine. Your promise is not broken because I'm still in good hands. You let Trent take care of me as my mate. You can go but I'm sure as hell gonna miss my sis" Zoie said while tears were forming in her eyes.
Trent went to her comfort. "I'm sorry, I don't want to leave but you have to understand. All of this happening to me and being on the verge of becoming evil is building up on me. I need to go, but if you really want me to stay, I will."
"No, Lyla you have too. I understand." Zoie said.
I walked to her and hugged her. Trent, danny and josh did too. Soon after Vencent did also.
Our big group hug lasted for what seemed like forever but I had to leave before Tanner found out I was gone, and that meant now.
I said my goodbye and was on my way.
*TANNERSPOV*
I woke up to an empty bed, and empty room. There was no sign of Lyla anywhere. I got up and went to bathroom,her stuff was gone.
I ran out of the room and down the stairs. I ran into the living room and Zoie, , her mate, the alpha and who the other two were walked in through the door.
"Zoie?" I said in a panicked toun after seeing that she was crying.
"Where is Lyla" she looked up qqat me. Her eyes where filled with lonlyness, sadness, and anger.
"She's gone, you know why.....because your sorry ass didn't protect and care for her like a normal mate should have. I'm sorry Tanner but she left you AGAIN, but also had to leave me behind." She said in a nasty altitude clearly trying to make me feel guilty. "You didn't have to come, you could have just done use all a favor and took your word to the rejection you put her through. Maybe she would not be out there in that cold freezing her ass off but fate had different ideas."
With that she walk up the stairs weeping in silence, her mate closely begins her.I ran out the door and shifted into my wolf. I sniffed pout her sent and followed it. She shouldn't have gone far.
About 20minuites I found her. She had her headphones on listening to music. I shifted back and put my clothes on. I walked up to her and put my hand on her shoulder.
She tensed and let out I low growl. She felt the sparks but didn't care. Did I hurt her that much. -NAH SHIT YOU FUCKING ASS HOLE, YOU REJECTED OUR MATE AND SHE HAD NOBODY TO LOVE HER YOU IDIOT. PUT YOURSELF IN HER PASITION, YOU ASS OF A HUMAN.-

I sighed and turned her around. When she was fully turned around, are gaze meet. I saw sadness, lonlyness and rejection. She looked down at her feet not bother looking me in the eyes any longer.
"What do you want Tanner." Her voice was raspy, making her seem so much sexier but also seem so much sadder.
"i want you Lyla" I said trying to stay strong. Seeing her this sad is breaking my heart and knowing that im the one that did this make me even more determind to get her back.
"You cant have me, you rejected me remember. You made me leave my pack instead of helping. You called me all those things. You made me and my wolf feel worthless. You knew i could protect myself when you found out I was the Black Alpha female, but you didnt even try and fix anything. You were scared of me. Scared of me being stronger than you, than anybody. Knowing i might turn evil scared me too, scares the hell out of me but if i have to i will fight it or even kill myself before i turn all the way. Tanner i cant stay because i cant risk being hurt by you anymore. I cant take much more before i lose control of myself and destroy anything that comes in my path. Tanner im leaving and you are doing to let me."
I knew she was right and i knew what she was going at but i didnt want her in this alone. i waanted to be there fore her. I will not let her be forgotten. I cant let that happen. I wont let that happen. I need her.
"No Lyla, i need you. I want you. You will not have to take any risk because you dont have to. I wont her you. I only want to love you, and hold you. I need you so much Lyla. When i first saw you out at that pool sitting all alone, on your sixteenth birthday. All i wanted to do was comforte you, i wanted to be there beside you kissing you. But i was scared i was goinng to get you hurt, My past is what i want to deal with and i wasnt going to drag you into it. The rogue killed my sister to proove a point of revenge. I was scared her was going to do that to you, but when i figured out that you were the black alpha female. I was scared. Ill admite it as an Alpha and your mate. I was scared. But now im not. I love you Lyla. I need you." I was shaking, literaly. I was scared of her leaving again.
"Im sorry" She walked over to me. She wrapped her arms around me and pulled me tight to her. It only took me seconds to respond. The sparks were everywhere. They trailed to my head to my feet. Lyla started standing on her tippy toes. She Layed her soft rosey lips on mine and let them linger.
Before i could do anything she pooled away. She took a step back, and looked me in the eyes. Tears running down her face. I stepped forward going to comfurt her but she took another back.
"Im sorry Tanner." And after she said that she ran. She was out of my site within second. My heart was aching. She was getting farther and Farther away. I was alone, she was alone. I cant live without her, but she had another idea.
She was leaving me forever.
