Suman checked her phone umpteen times. While the rendezvous with Shravan made her elated, it unnerved her as well. It's like — when you want something with all your heart, and it suddenly lands on your lap, it makes you nervous. What if it didn't last, what if it's nothing but all dreams?!

Giving in to temptation, she messaged,

Good Morning. You okay?

From: Suman

11.30 AM

Minutes later, her phone chimed,

Yes. All okay. You? At work?

From: Sir

11.50 AM

Suman perched her lips, whatever it was the tone of the message was not right. And this was what she had been dreading. What she had understood was that Shravan never had been an easy man, but that accident had tampered with him way more than physically. Last night he struggled to tell her about his physical incapabilities. And that hadn't scared her but what scared her was what he didn't tell.

Shravan was terrified. Suman let that slide.

Yes. I am at work. I was thinking about you. So messaged.

From: Suman

11.54 AM

Not much to do? What were you thinking?

From: Sir

11.56 AM

Yes, today it seems relatively less rushed. Just a couple of meetings to fix for Ahuja sir. I was thinking, what am I supposed to call you?

From: Suman

11.58 AM

Why? I have a name.

From: Sir

11.59 AM

Suman could almost see him rolling his eyes. But she wanted to be silly for him. She quickly edited the name from Sir to Shravan.

How boring! What about baby, sweet pea or Mon chéri?

From: Suman

12.01 PM

I strictly prohibit those.

From: Shravan

12.02

And Suman could feel the laughter in that message. This was what she wanted. An easy conversation, where the walls around his mind, and heart would slowly raze.

Suman smiled, and typed back,

Okay. Then Shravan it is. :) Now tell me why were you upset?

From: Suman

12.05 PM

How did you know I was upset?

From: Shravan

12.06 PM

I know you.
