His eyes bulged instantly.
"Why?? You just told me you loved me and you kissed me back " he said and looked at me as if I just grew two heads. He just made me laugh. "I want you to ask properly not in an empty classroom" I responded and walked out.
"You scared me woman" he yelled playfully and I just shrugged and walked off. I could not stop grinning, it was as if I had a smile tattooed to my face. Jamie was finally mine and that thought just put my heart in a frenzy.
I did not learn anything in school that day, I just sat in class and thought about my man.
His perfect smile, his cute face, his sweet lips. Emphasis on the sweet. He was driving me crazy. As I pretended to listen in class I got a text from Jamie.
"Can't stop thinking about you ❤" was what the text read and my heart just went into a double frenzy. My poor heart was going through too much stress right now.
I wanted to text him back but I didn't know what to say. Texting him before was so easy now it was like the hardest thing in the world. I just had to force myself to text him as I normally would and not over think it. "I was thinking of chicken" I texted and I instantly regretted it.
Chicken? Seriously? I had suddenly become so lame. His response was as I had expected ":) you were so thinking of me". I let out an involuntary laugh.
"how is the Great depression funny miss Kayla" my history teacher asked and I just wanted the ground to open up and swallow me. The whole class turned to me and I kept my head down.
"it's not" I said barely audible. "that's what I thought. Pay attention in class or next time you're getting detention" she said and went back to teaching.
After that class, I was greeted by the sweet scent I had been thinking of all day. Food. Yes I was also actually thinking of chicken.
"Brought you the chicken you were thinking of " Jamie said playfully. I giggled and smacked his chest. When did I become such a girl? Ok I wasn't thinking of Chicken, I was thinking of Jamie. I'm a love struck teenager, sue me.
I took the chicken from him and we went to the cafeteria together. "Kay" someone screamed and I turned around to see my neighbor. He travelled and we haven't seen each other for weeks. "Jake, OMG I missed you " I said and hugged him. "did I miss anything important" he asked and I was about to respond someone cleared their throat which caught our attention.
Of course it was Jamie. He was glaring at Jake's hand. I quickly removed Jake's hand that was around my waist. "Hey Jameson, I didn't see you there " Jake commented but Jamie did not respond. He just grabbed me to his side and held me tightly. He was so jealous and I loved it.
"see you around Kay" Jake said taking the hint that he wasn't wanted here. He looked at Jamie one last time before leaving.
"The chicken smells good" I said trying to kill the tension in the air and it worked.
"not as good as I smell" he said with a smirk.

As we walked to the cafeteria, Jamie refused to let go of my hands. People stared but he didn't seem to care, he wanted everyone to know we were together now. Well sort of since he hasn't asked properly yet. Girls shoot daggers and laser beams at me through their eyes. Which made me so uncomfortable and Jamie must have noticed because he squeezed my hand reassuringly.
"They're just mad they can't be you" he whispered into my ears and I couldn't help but smile. " Too bad for them, I'm not a sharer" I said playfully and Jamie just had his million dollar smile on. "That's my girl" he announced too loudly. Attracting more stares than before. I knew he would shout it from the mountain top if he could and it just made my heart flip.
