NINETEEN

"I thought I would see pigs fly before I'd see you two on a date," Andie laughed. We were sitting in the backyard, enjoying our short Thanksgiving break. Or at least I was enjoying it until Andie brought that up again.

"Don't remind me," I groaned, putting my head in my hands. They laughed, except Tristan loudly scoffed at my remark.

"Oh please, you know you'll love spending more time with me," he said, getting up from his seat.

"Yeah right," I muttered sarcastically, loud enough for them to hear me.

Ignoring my response, he said, "I should get going. I'll meet you at the diner, Lex." The diner?

Before he could even move an inch, I stopped him with my loud voice. "Oh hell no! I am not meeting you at our usual diner."

"I won the bet-"

"Yeah, I know I have to go on a date with you, but that doesn't mean that date will take place at our usual spot. If you're forcing me to go on a date with you, you're going to have to pick me up and take me to a movie and dinner," I ordered. There was no way I was going to let him just take me to the diner we always go to. He wanted this damn date, so I'm certainly going to force him to spend more money on me than he thought. Yes, it seems bitchy of me, but he knew I didn't want to go on this date.

While everyone else chuckled lightly at my dramatic reaction, he raised his eyebrows in surprise and smirked. "Fine, I'll pick you up at seven."

After spending the rest of the afternoon with everyone else, Morgan dragged me upstairs to get ready for my date...well, it was more Tristan's date than mine, but still. Anyway, she threw tons of clothes at me to wear, none of which I wanted to ever be seen in. I complained the whole time about not being able to wear jeans and a t-shirt, until I finally gave in to her. Although she allowed me to leave her room in skinny jeans and converse, she made me put on an off the shoulder long sleeved shirt. It just wasn't something I'd normally wear, though I was able to talk her out of many other options, mainly consisting of rather revealing clothes.

"Lex, he's here!" Logan yelled up the stairs. I gave Morgan a pleading look, hoping she'd find an excuse to help me out. When she simply smiled as if she was saying 'good luck because I'm not helping you', I sighed and left her room.

"Well you're on time, so I can't say anything about that," I said as I descended the stairs.

"I know," he said arrogantly. "You look nice." I raised my eyebrows at him while my cousins interrupted my thoughts.

"You two kids have fun now," Morgan joked.

"Yeah, and be safe!" Logan said, laughing at the underlying meaning of his statement. I rolled my eyes at them before pushing Tristan out the door.

"You two are so funny," I growled, slamming the door behind me. "Assholes."

Tristan was laughing beside me as we walked to his car. Looking over to glare at him, I realized I should've grabbed a jacket like he had on. Well there was no way I was going back in that house now, so I'd have to suffer with the mildly-cold temperature. It wasn't that bad.

He drove to a restaurant not far from the house, which also happened to be my favorite local restaurant. It was sort of like Olive Garden, serving mainly Italian food. Italian food was my favorite, so I was quite pleased Tristan guessed that right.

"Logan told you my favorite place to eat, huh?" I asked him as we were seated at a table near the window.

"No, I just remember you mentioning it," he said, shrugging. I stared at him in surprise for a moment until he glanced up at me from his menu.
