SHE CRIES

She cried
for the scrape in her knee
back when she was three,
for the ice cream on the floor
and for her pet rabbit, Theodore.

She cried
for the cut in her wrist
while she's gripping her fist,
asking why they aren't listening
to anything she tries saying.

She cried
for the love of her life
who left her in strife.
Wondering where she went wrong
whe she had loved him so strong.

She cries
for pain and abandonment,
for loss and disappointment,
for failures and mistakes,
and yet, a smile she fakes.
