Dear Dad,
I want to have a relationship with you, but as these months have turned into a year without ever receiving a reply or a simple phone call from you, it seems easier to just distance myself.
It's not easy believing in you when there is constant pressure coming at me in all directions, to give up on you, and ultimately relieve you of the duties that come with the name I have called you for so long.
And right now sitting in my bed recovering from what could have been a sickness that ended your responsibilities all together, I'm not so sure if I have it in me to push back against them.
