I woke up in the middle of the night cause I thought I heard something.
I looked over at the clock sitting on my night stand.
2:33 a.m
"What the fuck" I sighed as I ran my hand down my face.
I looked to the side where Corie was pose to be laying at and I didn't see her.
"Where she go" I silently questioned to myself.
I got up out the bed and I herd soft cries coming from the bathroom in my room.
I walks towards the door and it was slightly cracked so I walked in.
I saw Corie balled up on the floor crying her eyes out.
I quickly walked over to her.
"What's the matta' baybeh" I asked her.
"No-nothing Aug I-I'm fine." She terribly lied.
"No you not ma" what's wrong"
She sighed before telling me.
"I had another nightmare about my stepdad beating me. It felt so real."
I clenched my jaw as I listened to her tell me details about what happened.
"I just want the dreams to stop aug, I don't do anything wrong or bad for him to hurt me like this and my mama ain't nothing but a bitch for letting this shit happen to me."
"It's gonna get betta' ma, I promise."
"How can you promise something so big to me. She questioned.
"I know it's gonna happen, so imma promise that to you. You believe me?"
She didn't answer.
"Rie, look at me" she slowly lift her head up at me.
"Do you believe me?" I questioned her again.
"Yeah aug, I believe you."
"Good, now get yo ass up off my flo." I joked while smiling at her.
She giggled " shut up nigga"
I smiled at her.
"Come on let's got back to bed." I said
"Okay auggie" she said smirking.
"Corie" I said
"Sorry sorry, can you help me up?" She said laughing.
I helped her up.
"Thank you" she said
"Mhmm" I said while walking out the bathroom and laying back down."
She climbed back in bed and it was silent for a while until she spoke.
"Thank you aug, for everything, you are the best thing that ever happened to me besides jilly."
"Your welcome rie rie." I said while kissing her forehead bringing her closer.
She didn't say anything she was just relaxing in my embrace.
"Goodnight aug."
"Goodnight love" I said kissing her forehead once again before shutting my eyes and soon drifting to sleep.
