Jacklyne's POV

The room felt like it was spinning. I was staring at the ceiling and it was as if I was in a tornado, spinning round and round and round. The ceiling looked bright green instead of its regular white colour. That must've been the drugs.

My back felt damp and there were cool beads of sweat forming on my forehead. I wasn't exactly sure what was wrong with me but I knew whatever it was, it wasn't good.

"Hey Jacklyne," an oddly familiar voice said. I looked over to see Alan, staring at me with such interest and confusion.

"H-how did you get in here?" I stammered.

"You've taught me how to sneak around. You were definitely the worst influence on me in this place. So misbehaved and messed up," he explained, a slight humour in his voice.

"You don't mean that," I swallowed, trying to form some saliva in my mouth but coming up dry.

"I mean every word. You're the most messed up person I've seen in this entire place. You're worse than Lydia. Hell, I've watched you talk to yourself like there was actually another person in the room. Carrie doesn't exist, Jacklyne," Alan explained, turning devious.

"What... what do you mean? Carrie is real... everything is real."

"Carrie commit suicide. Once people leave, they're gone. She d-"

"You're lying! You saw her!" I yelled, getting up and feeling a wave of dizziness come over me.

"I didn't see shit!"

"You're a liar! You're lying!" I screamed, throwing everything I could find straight at him. The dresser, my lunch tray, the lamp, everything.

"Jacklyne, calm down!" Three male nurses pinned me to my bed and tied down my arms and legs.

I took deep breaths as I looked around the room. This was my regular isolation room, not the one in my dream. But was it a dream?

"What happened?" I stuttered, feeling my pupils dilate as they flashed a light in my eyes.

"You had some sort of episode. You were throwing things at thin air," one nurse explained.

"Alan Ashby... he was in here."

"We were outside your door before it happened. You were the only person in here." I felt a needle pierce my skin and I winced in pain. I suddenly felt myself being wheeled off to another room.

"Where are you taking me?" I panicked.

"You're getting a brain scan to see if this episode was neurological or if we're dealing with another mental disorder."

I nodded as my eyelids began to feel heavy. I was suddenly really tired and falling under.

I woke up in mine and Lydia's room. But this time, I was connected to tons of machines and medicines and I felt as limp as a ninety-year-old with arthritis.

I looked at all of the machines I was connected to. There was an IV feeding me a clear liquid. All of the machines were familiar to me from suicide attempts, except I wasn't being fed someone else's blood.

"Glad to see you're awake, Jacklyne. I'm doctor Payton, your neurologist," a male doctor said, coming into the room with a welcoming smile on his face.

"There's something wrong with my brain?" I asked, slightly terrified.

"It's looking like you have cephalic disorder. It was likely caused by lack of nutrition and too many drug changes. We're putting you on a steady dose a medicine to lessen the symptoms and you'll be in here under review for a few days," the doctor explained.

I blinked, too shocked to say a word. If this was caused by too many drug changes, that meant that it was my fault because I was faking an entirely different illness to what I actually had. I just ruined myself forever.

After giving me a few more facts about the disease, the doctor finally dismissed himself and I was alone again. Just me, myself and cephalic disorder.

"Hey Jacklyne." I looked over to the door to see Alan standing there with a concerned look on his face.

I took a deep breath. What happened earlier was only a dream. He doesn't think I'm crazy.

"Alan," I said, my voice cracking.

"Do you need some water?" He asked.

"No, I'm fine. Um... come sit. I need to ask you something." Oh god, the question was coming.

"Yeah, what is it?" He asked, seeming entirely innocent as he came and sat beside my bed.

"A while ago, when you... when you caught me trying to commit suicide... did you see a ghost?"

I could tell he was trying to hide a chuckle. "No... I thought you were just talking to yourself... going through withdrawal, that kind of stuff. Why... did you?" He asked, seeming even more concerned.

"No, that'd be crazy... I guess I am a little crazy though."

"You're not crazy."

"See- Jacklyne?" I looked back to the door to see Lydia standing in the doorway. Here we go...
