Chapter 5 - Jumping Clouds

"Come on Zarc, it's not like you were going anywhere with her. I mean we're on a quest to save the princess, not 'find Zarco a girlfriend quest'." Zanna bumps him to the side. His mouth quickly turns back into a smile and he bumps Zanna back. This begins a pushing fight.

"You guys are literally just here to ruin my love life, aren't you?" He says this as he pushes Zanna again, but this time it was really hard. She falls back but lands on soft green grass. Zarco's face turns to worry. "Oh, great" Zanna gets up and stands right in front of Zarco. Her arms slowly rise. "Come on Zanna, it wasn't that bad. Man don't do this." Zarco watches as vines start up his legs. He's trapped. He tries to move his legs but stops because he knows he'll never get out. Zanna smiles and carries on walking.

"Zanna..." I hear her let out a sigh. The vines droop down. "Thank you" She waves her hand back at me as to say 'you're welcome'. I wrap my arm around Zarco and we carry on walking.

"Thanks, Zora." He sighs.

"Zarc, you know she loves you. She just has a funny way of showing it." We both watch her walk. She walks with such power. It's as though she wants everyone to know not to mess with her. But that's not true. "She has love inside her-"

"Yeah deep, deep down."

"Zarco!" I jab him in the side. "You know as well as I do that she is really nice."

"To some people" I jab him again. "Ow, in the same place."

"Yeah. Come on, we've got some searching to do." We catch up with Zanna and follow the signs to the Jumping Clouds. We thought it wasn't a bad place to start looking, I mean at least it is a start.

We follow the signs till we get to a large field of cloud.

To the left there is a sign in the fields reading:

Jumping Clouds

"Cool!" Zarco announces what we all are thinking. There is just so much cloud in front of us. Although our walk to Mehco was solely clouds as well, these are different. They are in bundles.

"This is amazing! Why have we never come here before?" Zarco and I look at Zanna. She stops smiling and carries on walking. Sometimes we forget that the only thing that stopped us from coming here, was our parents. The day we found out they were gone, we loathed Mehco. We said that we would never come here. Obviously, as we grew older that hate died away, but the consideration of leaving Hanzid never took its place.

Zanna walks up to the edge of a deck that separates us and the clouds. Her toes hang off the side. She turns back at us and shrugs. Slowly her body falls backwards. A little squeal escapes from her as she falls towards the clouds. I tense up a bit as doubt crawls into me. Her body falls into the cloud and she is wrapped in the fluff. She disappears completely and for a second my heart stops...

But the beat goes on. She emerges again, her body flying back up. Joy is written all over her face. She falls back down this time positioning herself vertically. Her feet hit the cloud again and as she lands, her knees bend and she pushes herself up again.

Jumping Clouds. That's why they're called that.

As she jumps into the air again Zarco starts running to the deck. "Race you there."

I start running too trying to beat him to the edge. As I run I shoot a water ball in front of him. This causes him to stop and I run straight past him. "Hey brother, watch this," I shout to him with a really smug face. He looks up and watches as I jump off, flipping forward into the clouds.

I spin my body in mid-air to land on my back. As I fall, the clouds mould around my body and I'm enveloped in soft, fluffy cloud. It feels as though my body belongs here. This feeling lasts for what I think a minute but as I start rising and the clouds leave my body, I see Zarco only take his leap now. I fly into the air and watch as Zarco sinks deep into the most comfortable feeling ever. I don't do the same as Zanna and just keep myself horizontal. Falling back into the clouds is as amazing as it was the first time.
