It was Tuesday, lunchtime when the letter arrived. (Y/N) was conversing with her friends when her owl swooped in from one of the large windows, carrying a letter in its talons. She recognized the seal almost right away, for she had received many letters marked with it. (Y/N) thought this would just be another letter from (F/N), asking how she was doing, but it was quite the opposite.

Dear (Y/N),
We all miss you dearly, and hope that you will one day return. People still ask about you, some first years ask when your coming back, but we do not have the hearts to tell them you may never return. They really did, and still do, look up to you.
Why did you have to go? I understand your father was given a job high up in the Ministry, but you could've stayed with my parents and I. You know they would have gladly let you stay for as long as you like.
Things just are not the same without you. I feel as though a part of me, my other half, is missing. Everything seems duller. That's something I have always loved about you, you lit up a room, put color into dim worlds.
Please come back. I miss you, (Ex/Bf) misses you. He is still not over you, and I do not believe you when you say you are over him. The only reason you broke it off was because of the move. Please come back.
Sincerely,
(F/N)

Tears were threatening to spill from
(Y/N)'s eye by the time she reached the end of the letter. Her friends looked at her, both questioningly and solemnly. They could tell she was saddened by something, but not what.

(Y/N) rose quickly, wiping a few tears before rushing back to the common room.

George had been watching her from across the Great Hall. She was gorgeous, everything he would want in a woman. And his heart broke at her somber expression. Quickly imitating her, he rose and rushed after her.

Turning corners, his only lead being the patter of her footsteps in the large corridors. He was eventually able to catch her when she stopped at the entrance of the Ravenclaw common room.

"(Y/N)! Wait!" She spun around, frightened.

"George? What are you doing here-"

"I-I saw you rush out of the Great Hall, and I just wanted to make sure you're okay."

"Ye-eah-" (Y/N) broke down, falling into George's arms.

He could feel his heart stop at the feeling of her, the girl of his dreams, in his arms. George slowly stroked (Y/N) back with one hand, while the other tilted her chin up, making her look at him.

To George, she was the embodiment of beauty. Her eyes were always his favorite, and even with tears in them, they were everything.

They both slowly began to lean in, but right before their lips could touch, (Y/N) stopped, pulling away from him abruptly.

George stood there confused, what was he doing wrong?

"I-I'm sorry George, this is just moving too quickly," And with that, (Y/N) rushed into the Ravenclaw common room, not looking back at the puzzled boy who held her only moments ago.
