Flameheart to Flamestar

Chapter 2

Snowcloud smiled and nudged Flamestar to her paws. She was weak because of the waves of pain that went through her. Snowcloud wasn't that strong but he did his best keeping Flamestar up. They were making their way through Stormclan when the same patrol was walking around. Flamestar felt a large shock of pain go through her and she fell to the ground. Morningshine gasped when she saw Flamestar fall to the ground. She heard voices and opened her eyes. Morningshine and Darkstripe was leading her to Stormclan camp. She saw Pinepaw leading Snowcloud to Stormclan and threatening Snowcloud to leave the Stormclan warriors. Flamestar stood up and they all stopped walking. Flamestar padded in front of Pinepaw and glared at him.

"Leave Snowcloud alone." She hissed. Pinepaw didn't know she was the leader of Dawnclan now

"Why would I listen to you Flameheart?" He hissed and Morningshine stood beside Flamestar and tried to speak but Flamestar shook her head telling her that she could handle it. She looked down at Pinepaw

"You don't know who I am do you?" She asked. Pinepaw nodded

"I do. Your Flameheart of Dawnclan." Pinepaw hissed. Flamestar shook her head

"Im Flamestar of Dawnclan." She said and Pinepaw's eyes widened. She let Darkstripe lead her and she leaned on his shoulder. They entered Stormclan and Whitestar came towards her

"Flameheart? Is everything ok?" And Flamestar shook her head

"Dapplestar died and now I'm Flamestar." She said and Vineleaf, the Stormclan medicine cat, came out and saw her limping.

"Let me help you. Snowcloud come help me." She said and led Flamestar to the medicine den. After a while of explain and healing Flamestar padded back out.

"Can we talk?" Whitestar asked

"I'm sorry Whitestar but my clan has been waiting to long and I must appoint a deputy. She padded back home with Snowcloud beside her. She ran into camp and her two other litter mates pounced on her. They all laughed together and Flamestar shook them off.

"Congratulations." Lionheart said.

"Thanks." She said and looked up into the sky.

"Time to appoint a new deputy." She said and ran to the highrock. She climbed it feeling weird. She yowled and the clan came out.

"As we all know, Dapplestar has died." She said and the clan wailed. She silenced them and they quieted down

"It's time to appoint a new deputy." She said and scanned the crowd

"Lionheart. Come forward." She said and Lionheart walked under the highrock. She ran down to meet him and stood beside him

"Under the name of Starclan, I appoint the new deputy Lionheart." She said and the clan cheered his name. Lionheart pressed his muzzle against hers after the clan meeting was over

"You didn't have to choose me just because I'm your brother." He said softly and flattened his ears at a few cats talking about him

"I didn't." She whispered and walked to the group.

"Whatever you can say you can go say on the highrock. Careful gossiping." She hissed and walked to her litter mates again. She felt rain fall down and it started pouring like a bucket. She pulled her litter mates to her den and sat down on her nest. She heard loud thunder which scared Rainstrike. Rainstrike loved rain but she was terrified of thunder and lightning. Flamestar pressed her muzzle against Rainstrike's

"It's-" her ears pricked up and she heard yowls for her

"FLAMESTAR! SNOWCLOUD! HELP!" She heard the shriek and Snowcloud and herself ran down the highledge to meet Whitestar and Vineleaf and a one other Stormclan warrior ran in.

"Yes?" Flamestar asked and rubbed her muzzle against Whitestar's

"You have to help us! It's Pinepaw." Whitestar panted and Flamestar gasped. She turned around quickly and looked at Lionheart

"Lionheart take care of the clan. Snowcloud grab some herbs, Vineleaf go help him and Rainstrike." She yowled and the three cats came back with herbs.

"Come on! Lead the way, Whitestar." She commanded and Whitestar nodded. Whitestar didn't seem to care that he was being ordered by a younger cat. Whitestar turned and ran towards Pinepaw's body

"PINEPAW!" Flamestar gasped and ran faster then all of them. One of her lives was speed and other was knowledge.

"Herbs now!" She yowled and they sat down some herbs for her. She used them to the best of her ability

"Snowcloud! Don't just stand there like a dead fish help me!" She said and Snowcloud treated Pinepaw's wounds. Flamestar backed towards Whitestar

"What happened?" She asked and looked in his amber eyes.

"I don't know." He said

"It was a cat and it looked dead but it was still here." He told her and returned her gaze.

"Darkforest?" She asked and Whitestar shook his head

"All Darkforest cats are gone now. Ever since the great battle." He said softly and looked at her. She could sense the love in his eyes when he looked at her.

"That's something we will never know." She said and brushed her tail under his chin and walked towards the others that were helping Pinepaw.

"Is he ok?" She asked her brother.

"Yeah. He will live." Snowcloud said and didn't turn away. Whitestar and Flamestar had already sent the two warriors back to camp and it was just Pinepaw, Whitestar, herself, Snowcloud and Vineleaf. Pinepaw was unconscious and the two medicine cats were working on him while Flamestar sat behind them. She saw Whitestar sit beside her and felt her cheeks warm up. Snowcloud stood up

"Ok. He is fine." Snowcloud said and picked up the rest of his herbs and padded back to camp. Vineleaf helped Pinepaw back to camp. Whitestar stepped across the border and into his own territory.

"See you at the gathering." Whitestar said and Flamestar nodded

"Bye and thanks for your help!" Whitestar yowled while running away to his camp. The rain started again and was flooding the river

"No!" She yowled and pulled back while the waves grabbed her and tried to pull her in. Flamestar ran to camp quickly.
