Chapter two
"The first line on the first page
To the end of the last page
From the start in your own way
You just want somebody listening to what you say
It doesn't matter who you are"

He was drunk.

Lynx knew the minute she steeped into the house. The stench of Whiskey or no, maybe Vodka lurked through out the house.

She was hoping Orion was sleeping so he wouldn't have pissed Fox off. If he did, she would have had to kick Fox's ass.

Lynx walked into the living room to find Fox on the couch snoring like a hound while holding a bottle of Captain Morgan's. She had always known her Uncle to be a deadbeat drunk. Though he was mostly gone due to his job as a trucker which was good. It was a whole other story when he got home.

She quietly entered Orion's and her's room. Orion was laying in his bed clutching Clifford. He had been laying in bed for three weeks. Lynx had taken him to the doctor to be tested but they told her it was just a flu but he wasn't eating anything and had seemed to be weak all the time. Something was wrong and she knew that.
Lynx dug through her purse and pulled out some medication for him while driving back from work. She hoped this would at the very least help with the fever he had. She pulled him further onto the bed as he woke from is slumber. She gave him the icky disgusting cheap stuff that they could afford and went off to the bathroom.

Lynx thought about her day. How many dents and scratches she had to fix and buffer, how the teacher caught her leaving the school after first period. Boy was she in deep shit. Lynx had ditched classes only so she could keep care of her brother since he had gotten sick and that she couldn't leave him home alone for 6 hours. She didn't really care honestly, she was more into mechanic stuff like physics or even chemistry, that's why she would only go to first period just for chemistry which she was very good at.

She thought about hiring a nanny but they didn't have the money. In fact they were almost broke since Fox had spent gambling or drinking. Lynx tried working on the weekends but now with her issue with the autobots, she's quite stressed to the bone and is struggling with saving money. At least they did have a roof over their heads and running water, that she was thankful for.

Lynx showered, getting all the grease and dirt out from her hair. She then got out and put on some sweats and a t-shirt, then walked out.

"Where were you?"

Shit was all that went through her mind before she felt a sting on her cheek. She gave him a nasty glare and nearly lost her shit, but she kept it together. The smell of cigarettes and alcohol stench plagued Lynx nose. Oh how she wanted to punch him.

"Working. I stoped on the way home to get Orion some meds."

"That little bastred is still sick? Someone's got to teach him to suck it up." Fox grumbled as he took another swing of whisky.

"He's getting worse, I think we should take him to the hospital and get him checked."

"We? No you will. I an't paying for any checkup that's going to cost me over a hundred dollars. Especially to you two orphans." He laughed.

That was the last straw, Lynx had enough of the bull shit coming from Fox's mouth. In fact she was just done today's shity run of luck.

She bolted past Fox and to her room. Lynx grabbed a bag and packed everything she could grasp. Clothes for her and Orion, pictures of her and her mom plus the cash that she was saving. She awoke Orion and got him dressed. They were leaving just for tonight until Fox was gone on Sunday.
