They finally found Karma. He was leaning against a tree and flipping a pocket knife. Nobody else had thought to bring any means of protection but it would have been a good idea. They didn't know what trouble they could get into.

"Hey Karma!" Nagisa greeted as they approached. Kayano waved.

"Oh hey Nagisa, Kayano!" He paused and smirked. "Wait..." Nagisa was certain he knew where this was going.

"Nagisa! Are you skipping?!" He asked, feigning shock.

He knew it. "I had permission!" He declared dramatically.

"Are you sure? I wouldn't want to have to ground you! I am your father, after all." He joked.

"Oh yeah! You're brilliant!" Kayano exclaimed. Karma simply nodded. "We're his parents! He has to do what we say!" Kayano laughed smugly.

"Incorrect." Nagisa crossed his arms in mock seriousness. "I am a rebellious teen."

"I don't know about that..." Karma began. "A bratty 6 year old, at best. You're too good to act rebellious, son." He laughed as he tossed his knife in the air once more and caught it as it came back down.

"What are you implying, Dad?" Nagisa's eyes narrowed as he continued the playful argument.

"Don't even try to deny it, Nagisa." Kayano snickered. "You're a hardcore goody two-shoes. I doubt you've been rebellious in your life when you didn't have the E-Class to spur you on."

Nagisa let out a sigh. They had no idea. Basically his whole life after E-Class had been a rebellion. His mother told him what to do, wear, and be and everytime he rebelled. She told him how to act, think, and talk and everytime he rebelled. If he didn't, he'd be in a completely different place right now.

He'd still be in his mother grasp; wrapped in her chains. He had to rebel to be himself. Emphasis on 'him', seeing as his mother tried to make him the opposite. He felt a wave of nausea wash over him as he remembered the lengths his mother would go to.

"Listen to me, Nagisa!"

Smack

"I'm your mother! I am the only one who cares about you!"

Thump

"I only want the best you! And this is how you repay me?!"

Crash

"Put this on! Keep your mouth shut! We're meeting one of my friends for dinner and they can get you into a good school if they put in a good for you."

Slam

"Nagisa, are you listening?" Kayano snapped in his face.

"What?" He asked dumbly, sounding slightly out of it.

"Do you have any idea what we've been talking about?" Karma raised a brow with a slightly amused smiled teasing at his lips.

"Sorry, I spaced out." He laughed sheepishly, rubbing the back of his head.

"Whatever." Kayano snorted out a small laugh as she rolled her eyes. "I'm bored." She complained. Nagisa wondered how her demeanor could change so quickly.

Nagisa sighed. He walked closer to Karma. "So what did you normally do when you skipped?" He asked.

"It all depended." He said with now bored face. His eyes followed the knife as it went up then back down into his hand.

"On what?" Kayano asked.

"My mood, I guess." He said in a bored voice.

"Name something specific." Nagisa prodded.
