I dreamed of those lemony eyes,
One I could never bring to despise
Yet as I inched closer to you,
You moved further away, why do you do?
II.
In the rose gardens of Hearts we met,
In my red voluminous gown and tight corset
In your motley, dimpled smile, and jingling bells
Instantly, I was captivated, oh please don't tell!
III.
Your eyes shine like candlelight,
Your spirit that would surely put up a fight
Your tricks, illusions, cards, and magic to woe
Oh court jester! Why do you charm me so?
IV.
Once, we sneaked out into the night
At first you gave me such a fright
But to a tea party you offered to go
With a pounding heart, how could I say no?
V.
At the mad tea party of strangers
Everywhere I turn, it screamed danger
But I pushed all my fears and dread aside
For I know you are always by my side
VI.
The lion sang an opera song
The grandma played a drum solo for too long
The dormouse yawned showing how little he cared
And I stood offering everyone a macaroon to share
VII.
What an unusual tea party indeed
I'm glad you brought me here it was such a treat!
But as the sun rises and the dawn breaks
It's time to return, though my heart aches
VIII.
Jest, you told me your name
Oh how I wish this night would remain
A royal joker you are, a lady I am
I do hope to see you, some day again
