Belles POV

I sat there, staring at Gaston, trembling.

"Don't do this," tears streamed down my eyes as I shook my head slowly.

"This, ANIMAL, has to pay!" Gaston yelled, licking his lips greedily.

At this the crowd behind him cheered a demonic "yes" in unison.

"Belle...go..." Rumple growled quietly.

I cant believe this! I wont believe it! He has given up all hope.

No!

"What are you waiting for," Rumple snapped, hatred in his eyes directed at Gaston.

Gaston took a step forward, wary as he was expecting more of a fight.

I shot up.

A fight he came for so a fight he would get.

Rumples POV

My heart but shattered as Belle flew into the middle between Gaston, his mob and I.

I wanted to scream at her, plead her to get out of they way, but my body is so weak I can barely grunt.

Gaston's psychotic laughter filled the room,

"Oh no, not a woman, in my way!" Gaston scoffed, seeing my defiance as pathetic.

"Get out of the way little girl," he hissed at her.

All my bones filled with rage, my blood slowly filling with anger.

Nobody talks to my Belle like that.

Least of all him.

Belles POV

"No." I stood my ground.

The last thing I would ever do right now is move.

They'd have to kill me first.

The mob tried to surge past Gaston, but he held his arms out, pride taking over.

He grabbed the two large oak doors and slammed them shut, sliding a sword into the locks, the mob left reeling outside.

I know that he wants Rumple to be his prize. He wants to be the mighty one to take down the Dark One.

So now it was just us.

"Wouldn't want to get hurt now, would you, you silly little bitch," he said through gritted teeth, about to explode from anger.

I stayed where I was, eyes fixed on him.

"I thought you were supposed to be smart, seems like you've just signed your own death warrant," he snarled, a sick grin appearing across his face.

"You wouldn't," I said, could he do that to me? The woman he supposedly loves? But can Gaston really love anything?

There was hesitation in his eyes.

I saw it.

Only a second.

But it was there.

"HA!" He scoffed.

"I would need no more strength than i would to snap a twig to break your neck," he laughed.

"Come on then, I'm right here, the one thing between you and killing him, killing the man who stole me from you," I said bravely.
